We should also note that a notable trend of lower risk for very low VitD intake was observed in those with higher financial status in both adults and elderlies (OR 0.73 and 0.80, respectively), but was not statistically significant.
Our results also demonstrate a trend towards significance of elevated immunoreactive trypsinogen as a group in patients who developed type 1 diabetes, with ~2.5 times as many of these patient’s results triggering second-tier testing over the general population.
ONS groups showed a trend toward greater height gain when compared to DC only group, but the differences were not significant within the study interval.
[ 106 ] found a significant association between Chenopodiaceae (spinach) intake and a low risk of EAC and a suggestive but not significant association between Cruciferae, Graminacae, and Leguminosae, and EAC risk reduction.
Adjustment for CVD risk factors, including systolic blood pressure, HDL-cholesterol, BMI and diabetes status caused the association between C20:0 and all-cause mortality to become insignificant, while the association between C24:0 and all-cause mortality became borderline significant.
We found a reduction in hypoglycaemic and hyperglycaemic episodes, but perhaps because of the limited number of cases included in our study, it was not significant and did not present a clear trend.
Pre-diagnostic red meat, processed meat or fibre intakes were not associated with colorectal cancer mortality; however, a marginal trend of processed meat was detected [ 29 ].
The intragroup Phe analysis showed that Phe collected 2h-after dinner had a borderline significant reduction compared to Phe before dinner ( p -value 0.05) and was significantly lower compared to mean Phe value before breakfast ( p -value 0.04, Figure 2 ).
After 12 months of supplementation, patients in the Tocovid group exhibited highly significant improvements in conduction velocity (CV) of both median and sural sensory nerves as compared to those in the placebo group.
A significant trend association between green tea consumption and comprehensive frailty was observed among those in the ≥75 years age group ( p for trend <0.01) in men; a green tea consumption of ≥3 cups per day was associated with a lower prevalence of comprehensive frailty, compared with the consumption of almost none (OR = 0.46, 95% CI = 0.30–0.72).
For females, no significant supplement × time interactions existed, although interactions for whole body lean tissue mass ( p = 0.088) and vastus lateralis thickness ( p = 0.099) approached significance and magnitude increases in these characteristics favored the PP versus CTL group.
In Japanese adults, a highly significant inverse correlation was observed between age and zinc concentration in hair [ 18 ], which led us to consider an age-related decrease in zinc concentration in our study.
The results show that BMI showed an increasing trend with PRS, and the participants with PRS scores of 8 and 9 had a sharp increment in BMI ( Figure 2 A).
Greater odds of elevated IL-6 had a borderline significant association with stunting (maternal height < 145 cm; aOR = 1.97, 95% CI: 0.97, 4.02) and intrapartum infections (aOR = 2.07, 95% CI: 0.95, 4.54). aORs for antenatal infection and for any antenatal or intrapartum infection, as well as for overweight BMI status (data not shown), were greater than one across all inflammatory markers, though none met statistical significance.
A systematic review of case–control and cohort studies showed a trend of reduced risk for melanoma with high intake of vegetables (by 40–57%) and fruits (by 34–46%) [ 45 ].
However, at a nominally significant level, Figure 2 depicts results indicating that genes that showed strong association with rumination in the suboptimal folate group were highly expressed during late-mid and late prenatal brain development.
It was, however, found by the random-effects analysis that CHO supplementation composed of GL:FRU has a slight tendency for a greater effect on performance in comparison to other MTC compositions (marginally insignificant, Figure 5 ).
In models adjusted for demographic, clinical, and lifestyle characteristics, the associations remained significant for HEI–2015 moderation scores and marginally significant for HEI–2015 total scores.
