Among other nutritional assessment methods, the univariate analysis showed a trend toward an increased risk of malnutrition in patients and reduced ADL by CONUT (OR 1.22, CI 0.28–2.56, p = 1.000), while the multivariate analysis showed a decreased risk for reduced ADL, possibly due to confounding variables (OR 0.42, CI 0.04–4.74, p = 0.484).
To do this, each factor was first compared with functional decrease, and those factors that were significant or close to significance ( p < 20), were used in a logistic regression model by steps.
Due to these safety concerns, there is an increasing trend among food scientists to replace these synthetic antioxidants with natural ones, which are generally supposed to be safer [ 17 , 18 ].
With respect to B complex vitamins, excluding vitamin B2 (riboflavin), we found a protective effect that was not constant across quintiles and did not follow a clear trend for the different elements.
Results showed a trend of decrease in ZIP14 levels when cells were transfected with 1 μg of p53-expressing vector and a significant decrease in ZIP14 levels (about 36%) in cells transfected with 2 μg of p53 vector ( Figure 3 C).
We found that plasma levels of AEA progressively decreased after eating the non-favorite food and significantly increased after eating the favorite food, whereas plasma levels of 2-AG did not differ significantly between the two test conditions, although they showed a trend toward significantly different time patterns.
The results (data not shown) indicated a nonsignificant trend toward a very slight (<1.5-fold) upregulation of LCE3A , LCE3D , and LCE3E mRNA expression.
In vitamin C (100 μM)- treated samples, we found that miR-29b ( p = 0.04) and miR-4705 ( p = 0.04) were significantly down-regulated and miR-3942 ( p = 0.01) and miR-3152 ( p = 0.04) were significantly up-regulated whereas miRNA-371b showed a trend of up-regulation similar to our array findings.
After analysing the count of other bacteria groups, a constant quantity in Clept was observed in the experimental group supplemented with Synergy 1, whereas a decreasing trend was observed in the placebo group.
When analyzing the weight variation, a slight trend toward a greater weight gain was seen in the DS experimental groups in comparison to the corresponding DR groups, without reaching significance.
This systemic review overall showed a trend toward significant association between vitamin D status during pregnancy and AD and PPD; however, the causality from these findings cannot be inferred due to the observational nature of the studies included in this systematic review.
Similarly, although there was an increasing trend in mean diet quality for both RDGI and S-RDGI1 with an increasing education level, this was not significant.
Similarly, the lack of a clear trend in diet quality with age for all of the indices may be due to the disproportionate sample, with only 12 participants being under the age of 30.
Age and VAD dose were independently associated with hypermetabolism and a marginal significance was observed for gender, indicating a possible benefit for males regarding the occurrence of hypermetabolism.
Another main finding was that the highly significant single variable associations between salt iodine and salt supply-related factors, such as packaging and brand name, were generally reduced when grain type was held constant, suggesting an overlap between these factors, as would be expected.
Vegetable intake (10 oz) was shown to be a significant parameter in the GR LOO model, whereas the interaction of MTHFR 677 with overweight BMI) was approaching significance with a p value of 0.059.
Moreover, a fairly significant correlation has been found between oxidative DNA damage in the human trabecular meshwork (HTM) and increased intraocular pressure and visual field defects in glaucoma patients [ 37 ].
Here we have shown improved episodic memory performance in delayed word recognition and marginally significant improved visuo-spatial Corsi Block performance at 3, but not 6, months following intervention alongside a lowering of systolic blood pressure at both time points.
