Results based on the level of salt and herbs and spices (two-factor analysis) showed that the effect of herbs and spices was as large as the effect of salt on overall liking by reaching borderline significance (F(1, 276) = 3.79, p = 0.052; F(1, 276) = 3.29, p = 0.071, respectively).
The repeated measures of periods ending at weeks 4, 8, 12, 14, 16 and 18 also consistently showed a significant result in this regard, while the borderline significance was found at week 21 ( p = 0.052).
In the intervention group, results showed a near-significant difference between group means for change in total IBS-SSS score ( p = 0.052), and significant differences for ‘Diarrhea’ ( p < 0.001), ‘Constipation’ ( p < 0.001), ‘Bloating and flatulence’ ( p = 0.03) and ‘Intestinal symptom’s influence on daily life’ ( p = 0.038).
All ANCOM2-detected differentially abundant bacteria between the two groups were also confirmed to be significant using the MaAsLin2 method ( p < 0.05) with or without adjusting for covariates, except Haemophilus parainfluenza , which was marginally significant ( p = 0.052) in MaAsLin2 after covariate adjustments.
Further adjustment mitigated the association between CSE timing and the continuous MNA-SF score so that it became only marginally significant ( p = 0.052).
However, a tendency toward significance ( p = 0.052) was observed at week 12 in the severity of dizziness, with three more participants reporting minimal and one participant rating slight severity of dizziness, with most of the change observed in the PE-1000 group.
Model 1, adjusting for the same factors as above, for AHEI-derived vegetable score showed borderline significance ( p -value = 0.0525) in the non-DM group.
Also, at the age of 60 months, we recorded an almost double percentage of obese female patients who had BMI Z-score values above 2 compared to male patients, the difference being in this case only a marginal significance (χ 2 = 3.748 with p = 0.053) ( Table 4 ). 3.3.
After adjusting for the period effect, the difference in Stiffness Index between baseline and 2 h in the LFD and TP + FM arm remained borderline significant ( p = 0.053), as well as the difference between baseline and 3.5 h in the LFD-only + FM group ( p = 0.02).
A borderline non-significant time effect was observed for peripheral systolic BP ( p = 0.053) and diastolic BP was reduced over time ( p = 0.027) with a non-significant time by treatment effect ( p = 0.053).
The mean response values of MEP revealed a tendency to increase in TEST stimulus following a-tDCS, which is almost significant (F (1.79) = 3.85; p = 0.053; Figure 6 A).
Recovery elicited a significant decline ( p = 0.032) in levels of muscle atrogin-1 along with an almost significant decrease ( p = 0.053) in proteasome content and total protein ubiquitination ( p = 0.005) but not MuRF-1 compared to immobilized animals ( Figure 5 A–E and Figures S4–S7 ).
In addition, participants with MetS had higher dietary GI and GL estimates (in both approaches), with the differences being borderline significant ( p = 0.053, 0.050, and 0.058 for GI 1, GL 1, and GL 2, respectively).
The between-groups difference for SF-36: Physical pain score was nearly significant ( p = 0.053) at the end of the supplementation period (12 weeks). 3.6.
Post hoc analyses revealed that MEN resulted in significantly reduced EMG activity during laps 3, 4, and 5 for the VL compared to PLA, whereas no laps showed a significant difference between MEN and PLA for RF, except for a trend toward significance in lap 5 ( p = 0.053).
Post-hoc analysis reported LAR levels to be significantly lower at week 4 ( p = 0.049) and week 8 ( p = 0.004) compared with baseline in the LCHF group; however, in the HCLF group only week 4 showed a decreasing trend ( p = 0.053) compared to baseline.
Moreover, a non-significant but very close to statistical significance ( p = 0.053) difference was noted for the TAG concentration change from w0 to w9.
A clear trend was observed in the cornus ammonis 1 (CA1) and cornus ammonis 3 (CA3) cell layers (Kruskal-Wallis: CA1; p = 0.053, CA3; p = 0.064), where PKU mice on diets without SNC showed a reduction in PSD-95 OD of 44% in the CA1 and 51% in the CA3 compared to WT mice.
General Patients’ Characteristics and COVID-19 Among the patients, female patients appeared more frequently positive in the anti-SARS-CoV-2 serological test compared to male patients, with borderline significance ( p = 0.053), but no significant differences appeared in terms of the severity of the COVID-19 symptoms.
