As mentioned above, the simple main effect of Solution Style, i.e ., the personal evaluation of each participant about her/his own responses being the result of an insight- or analytic-based problem-solving process, showed a marginally significant effect [F (1,29) = 2.79, p = 0.066].

However, here we observed a significant trend (i.e., p = 0.066) indicating that AE improved inhibition, including a high effect size ( η p 2 = 0.15), which would confirm the well-known positive effects of moderate AE intensity on cognition reported in the literature 38 , 39 .

The hypermetabolic group had a shorter survival time in normal-weight patients ( p = 0.009) but showed a trend of longer survival time in the malnutrition group ( p = 0.066) (Fig. 1 ), which was also seen in the log-rank test for time since this admission (Supplemental Fig. 1 ).

There was a marginal elevation in the level of inflammatory cytokine, Tumor Necrosis Factor-α (TNF-α) (13.9 pg/ml versus 11.9 pg/ml, p = 0.162) in hyperglycemics, which showed a trend of positive correlation with HbA1c (r s = 0.26, p = 0.066) (Fig. 4 b).

A trend towards significance was also observed for the Digit-span backward task (r = 0.352, p = 0.066).

Additionally, two-way repeated measures ANOVA, which was conducted for CBF values between genotypes and time interaction terms, showed that genotypes ( p = 0.012) and time ( p < 0.0001) significantly affected the CBF values, and that the interaction was marginally significant ( p = 0.066).

There was a slight trend for RD children to receive higher scores on hyperactivity ( p = 0.066) and inattention ( p = 0.079) than TD controls.

In the total sample, surprisingly, the main effect of cue (reward and loss cues) showed only a trend toward significance (Greenhouse-Geisser correction: F(1.317, 89.588) = 3.182; p = 0.066; η 2 p = 0.045), as well as the block x cue interaction (Greenhouse-Geisser correction: F(1.572, 106.918) = 2.892; p = 0.072; η 2 p = 0.041).

Endocrine profiles measured on days 1–3 of the menstrual cycle (including AMH, FSH, LH, Estradiol, progesterone, TSH, prolactin, and fasting blood sugar) did not reveal any significant intergroup differences, although there was a near-significant trend in LH levels ( p = 0.066).

This decrease was more pronounced for blood-fed than denied mosquitoes, but considerably less so than for samples prepared with the manual method, as noted by nearly significant or marginally significant interactions between feeding treatment and age ( GUY1 : χ 2 = 5.43, P = 0.066; YG2 : χ 2 = 5.83, P = 0.054).

A statistical trend ( p = 0.066) was observed between treatment with tacrolimus vs that of metformin (mean difference = 0.495, t = 2.781; 95% confidence interval = −0.0160–1.006).

At 6-month follow-up, patients with signs of metabolic syndrome showed a trend towards lower PHES compared to patients without these manifestations (− 6.3 ± 1.2 vs. − 3.6 ± 0.6; 95CI = − 0.2–5.6; p = 0.066).

The decline showed a trend toward significance (Paired t-test, p = 0.0662).

However, NSAIDs intake was approaching significance ( P = 6.62E-02) but did not pass Bonferroni correction.

There was no association between post-mortem interval (PMI) and TL or mtDNAcn in post-mortem blood samples (Table S4 ). There was a weak trend of sex effect on TL (p = 0.0663), and a statistically significant effect on mtDNAcn (p = 0.0016) in healthy controls; no sex effect on either TL or mtDNAcn was found in suicide completers (Table S5 ).

One-way ANOVA showed a nearly significant effect of rubber grain size on thermal conductivity (F value = 3.26, p = 0.067).

Regarding IGG, negative correlation with spirituality at borderline significance was detected (B = − 3.324; p = 0.067).

The interaction between dosage and shape of the fibre is slightly significant (coefficient = -0.280, p = 0.067), suggesting a complex relationship between these variables in determining flexural strength.

The same effect has been observed within each of the two groups (GHD and CS), although the effect did only reach borderline significance (ANOVA p = 0.067 in GHD, p = 0.045 in CS).

The intention (OR 1.9; 95% CI 0.7–5.3; p = 0.192) scores showed a trend for higher chances of reaching the VO 2peak reference values, whereas perceived behavior control (OR 0.4; 95% CI 0.2–1.0; p = 0.067) and subjective norms (OR 0.8; 95% CI 0.4–1.5; p = 0.491) scores showed the opposite tendency.

There were four overlapping genes, including LRP1 , MACF1 , DICER1 , and TTN (a marginally significant over-representation, p < 0.067).

They exhibited an increase in the frequency of spontaneous chromosomal rearrangements when compared to controls, however, the difference showing only a borderline significance (p = 0.067) (Supplementary Table S3 ).
