CRE colonization was associated with increased 90-day mortality in a univariable analysis (p-value 0.001), in a multivariable model, previous hospitalization and medical ICU admission were independent predictors of 90-day mortality whereas CRE colonization approached significance (aOR 2.3, 95% CI1.0–5.3, p = 0.056).

A borderline significant sex-EPA interaction was seen in the MetS score (P = 0.056) and when the analysis was conducted sex-specifically it showed a negative association between EPA and the MetS score in girls [β = −1.42 (95% CI −2.65; −0.19)] (P = 0.024, n = 340) and no association in boys [β = 0.01 (95% CI −0.97; 0.99)] (P = 0.99, n = 366).
Discussion In this study, we noted that telomere length in diploid cells was increased in females in childhood when compared to males although the difference for the term group just failed to reach statistical significance (p = 0.056); increased in those with IUGR when compared to those without IUGR; and was increased in those in the least socioeconomically deprived group when compared to the most deprived group.

A borderline significant interaction between H. pylori cagA status and genotypes at rs2294008 was observed for the combined group of subjects with IM or dysplasia (p = P = 0.056), in which the association appeared stronger in the cagA -positive group (OR = 1.80, 95% CI 1.29–2.42) than the cagA -negative group (OR = 1.03; 95% CI 0.63–1.68).

From baseline to day 2, there was a significant increase in serum Ca in the exercise-only group (p < 0.05, paired t-test, Fig 9 ) and a nearly significant increase in serum Ca in the supplemented diet-only and combined diet and exercise groups (p = 0.0567, p = 0.0570, respectively, paired t-test, Fig 9 ).
