High-alcohol intake female rats in the ketamine group were significantly higher than saline in the second PR session only, and a statistical trend toward significance was noted in the third session (SA session 8–9: t (47) = 3.67, 1.89; p = 0.0006, 0.06, respectively; Fig. 3 a , b ).
In the multivariable analysis, age showed a statistical trend toward significance (adjusted odds ratio [aOR] = 1.56; 95% CI: 1.00–2.43; p = 0.051), indicating that older age may be associated with an increased likelihood of meningioma relative to epidermoid cyst, though this did not reach conventional statistical significance.
The lowered active exploration of the conspecific in mice treated with MTEP was accompanied by a marked decrease in object exploration and an increase in locomotor activity during the test, as shown by the distance traveled during the test at 5 min post-injection [ t -test: t (1,24) = 4.56, p < 0.001] ( Figure 3E ) as well as by a statistical trend toward significance at 1 h post injection [ t -test: t (1,22) = 1.77, p = 0.09] ( Figure 3K ).
As a consequence of the small numbers and also due to the different time frames of the two cohorts, the pre-implementation and post-implementation groups did have characteristics that showed a statistical trend toward significance with respect to ECMO configuration (90 vs. 71% receiving VA-ECMO in the pre- vs. post-implementation cohorts, p = 0.10) and indication (29 vs. 47% primarily receiving ECMO support for primarily respiratory failure in the pre- vs. post-implementation cohorts, p = 0.15).
Contrasting the data obtained in the different age groups showed that the stimulus location and manual response interaction was not significant for the younger children [ F (1,29) = 0.42, p > 0.05 for age group 8; F (1,29) = 0.55, p > 0.05 for age group 9], emerged as a statistical trend toward significance for the 10-years-old children [ F (1,29) = 1.98, p = 0.16], and was significant for the oldest children [ F (1, 29) = 14.13, p < 0.001 for age group 11].
