In a randomized controlled study (N = 7) that compared IAT to IVT with recombinant tPA for treatment of patients with acute ischemic stroke with major vessel inclusion, Sen et al (2009) also found that IAT showed a trend toward a higher recanalization rate (3/3 patients for IAT and 0/4 patients for IVT; P = 0.03) ( Table 2 ) [ 20 ].
Gene-gene interaction analyses The cohort from Rio de Janeiro showed a trend toward statistical evidence of interaction between TGFA rs1523305 and IRF6 rs642961 (p = 0.03, OR = 1.77) and between IRF6 rs2073487 and TGFA rs2902345 (p = 0.04, OR = 1.60).
While the association between the minor alleles of these two nsSNPs and lower BMI did not reach statistical significance among Health ABC white participants ( Table 2 ), the association did reach statistical significance among white females (rs52820871 P -value = 0.03, rs2229616 P -value = 0.01) ( Table 3 ).
As shown, overlap of genes showing both higher H3K9ac and H3K4me3 in the same species was only marginally significant (hypergeometric test, p≈0.03), and clearly, the overwhelming majority of genes (c. 85%) did not concur ( Figure 2F ).
Of the three alleles tested, only 4a7a, a putative regulatory mutant, males showed a barely significant difference (p = .03) from non-mutant control flies ( CyO balancer) of the same cross indicating that the dominant enhancement (silencing) is dependent upon chromosomal location and not on the w + transgene Pci construct itself ( Figure 4 ).
A positive association emerged for simple sugar intake (OR = 1.71; 95%CI 1.13–2.59) in the comparison between highest and lowest quintile of intake with a significant trend over quintiles (p = 0.03).
We identified a nominally significant association (p = 0.03; Odds ratio (OR) = 3.13) between a 6 kbp deletion in an intron of NEDD4L and increased risk of asthma.
Immunoblotting further showed a highly significant 5-fold increase in α-SMA (p<0.03) and a 2-fold increase in collagen I expression (p<0.03) post-MI, consistent with the pro-fibrotic CF phenotype ( Fig 2B and 2C ).
Furthermore, from NGT to 2-h NDM group, a gradual and significant increasing trend was observed in age ( P = 0.001), BMI ( P <0.001), SBP ( P <0.001), total cholesterol ( P = 0.04), triglycerides ( P <0.001), Log-CRP ( P = 0.007), FPG ( P <0.001), HbA1c ( P <0.001), SUA ( P = 0.002) and proportion of hyperuricemia ( P = 0.002) and hypertension ( P <0.001), but a decreasing trend in the proportion of smoking ( P = 0.03).
When testing for modifiers, non-significant interactions were found except for CS where a borderline significant interaction was found with sex (p = 0.03).
The approximately 40-kDa procathepsin B exhibited a marginally significant increase of 93±27% (mean±SEM; P<0.03) in the PADK-treated group as compared to vehicle-injected transgenic mice samples ( Fig. 4A and B ).
The difference between the best p gain and fixed p gain{exc, inh} settings was not significant ( p = 0.324, Wilcoxon signed-rank test), and the small decreased observed in the best p gain{exc, inh} setting relative to the fixed p gain{exc, inh} and best p gain settings reached borderline significance ( p = 0.030 and p = 0.003, respectively, Wilcoxon signed-rank tests).
While all were negative for rare mutations in a gene-set comprising PD disease-causing and risk genes, another candidate gene-set of 1000 genes functionally relevant to PD presented a nominally significant ( P = 0.03) enrichment of rare putatively damaging missense variants in the PD cases.
Interestingly, by 9 months, all three groups retained higher V CO , though the highest exposure group did not reach statistical significance (p = 0.03, p = 0.03, p = 0.08 for 2.1 ppm, 16 ppm, and 32 ppm, respectively).
