When categorized into three groups according to the tertile of baseline serum NGAL (NGAL tertiles, 1st: 25.4 to 83.7 ng/mL, 2nd: 83.8 to 143.8 ng/mL, 3rd: 143.9 to 567.9 ng/mL), there was a significant trend toward higher serum NGAL levels with older age, hypertension, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, low ejection fraction, high C-reactive protein, higher contrast volume, multivessel coronary disease, larger number of stents, and longer stent length.

The relationship between the changes in CBF velocity (MCA) and the changes in cardiac output at rest and during dynamic exercise was linear and highly significant [ 24 ], indicating that carotid–cardiac baroreflex function or cardiac function-mediated cardiac output, as well as blood pressure, is important to the regulation of CBF velocity [ 25 ].
Results of a meta-analysis that included 18 randomized clinical trials (RCTs) with more than 4000 OSA patients on CPAP therapy did not show a significant decrease of cardiovascular event risk compared with the control group but only a nonsignificant trend of lower rate of death and stroke [ 37 ].
There was a clear trend—from the aorto-iliac towards only infrapopliteal segments—in increasing prevalence of diabetes (28.3% vs. 60.0%), heart failure (5.4% vs. 15.8%), renal failure (16.6% vs. 49.5%), polyneuropathy (4.6% vs. 17.9%) and CLTI stage of LEAD (8.6% vs. 74.0%).
There were also significant genotypic effects on RBANS total scores after controlling for covariates (F = 3.12, p = 0.045, eta-squared = 0.006), while genotypic effects on language (F = 2.41, p = 0.090, eta-squared = 0.005) and attention (F = 2.57, p = 0.077, eta-squared = 0.005) index scores approached significance.
