EA-ONCE/1 (Electroacupuncture Administered Once at PID 1) While EA treatment given only once at PID 1 showed a trend towards reducing tumor-associated nociception when compared to the tumor-no EA groups, this did not reach statistical significance in either male or female animals at any of the time points tested ( Figure 3(a) ).
However, when the different knee regions were analyzed separately, the adjusted p-values did not reach statistical significance, although a clear trend was observed, suggesting that cartilage damage may be more pronounced in the medial femorotibial joint (MFTJ), whereas bone marrow lesions appear to predominate in the patellofemoral joint (PFJ) (Table 3 ).
Comparison of the three parameters between the groups also showed larger values of Top and Eslope50 and smaller values of Hill slope in the 1‐BP‐exposed groups at PND 14, with the exception of Eslope50 in the 400 ppm group that showed a trend suggestive of an increase, but did not reach statistical significance (Table 3 ).
Results of the meta-analysis In the randomized clinical trials, the FVC mean difference at 12 months between patients treated with CYC and patients treated with placebo or another immunosuppressant showed a positive trend in favor of the CYC group (mean difference = 4.15%), but did not reach statistical significance (95% confidence interval (CI) = -0.51 to 8.80; Figure 2a ).
While the adjustable-loop group showed a slight trend toward better knee stability and extension in early follow-ups, these differences did not reach statistical significance at the two-year mark, refuting the hypothesis that device type significantly impacts long-term outcomes.
Especially for the former result, underscoring that the facilitator’s role notably influences the variability and regularity of the EEG signals, we realized that, specifically, the ‘father’ facilitator was associated with the highest mean entropy (M = 0.684, SE = 0.133), while the ‘mother’ facilitator showed the lowest mean entropy (M = 0.558, SE = 0.133) (please see also Fig 6 ); although pairwise comparisons did not reach statistical significance (in all cases except the close to significance trend of the ‘father’ vs ‘mother’ comparison) after Bonferroni correction (please see Table 4 ).
erlotinib in chemotherapy-pretreated, EGFR TKI-naïve patients showed a trend to a longer progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival in favor of dacomitinib that did not reach statistical significance, with a higher rate of treatment related adverse events (mainly skin rash, paronychia, and gastrointestinal toxicities).
Comparison of cell-type composition revealed that the proportion of CD25 + cells within the CD4+ T cell compartment showed an increasing trend in non-survivors compared with survivors at both the sample and cell levels, although this difference did not reach statistical significance (Additional file 2: Figure S3).
