The difference in the resulting library size, and hence in screening cost, may be small or even negligible (as was in our case), but when the WT bias is very high, the savings due to choosing the better method might be significant.
Excerpts
Therefore, we adjusted for nominally significant eigenvector of principal component 1 using logistic regression in order to control the potential population stratification for further analysis on remained 98 cases and 98 controls.
P ≤ 0.05 was considered statistically significant and P ≤ 0.01 was highly significant.
A non-linear regression curve depicted a decreasing trend of LD decay with an increase in the physical distance (kb) in the six populations.
In accordance with several previous studies 27 , 28 , 29 , the magnitude of increased expression of the 300 miR-124 target genes following sponge expression was modest but highly significant (fold change 1.06+/− 0.015 SEM, Fig. 4D ).
However, treatment arm was not a significant prognostic factor for 2- and 3-year D-FFS or LR-FFS, though treatment arm had a marginally significant effect on these outcomes ( Table 2 ).
In particular, samples showed a decreasing trend in the VEGF activity over time, thus confirming an effective VEGF release (see Supplementary Information , Figure S3 ).
an evident trendgold
An evident trend toward higher OPN expression with the deeper tumor invasion was identified, though there was no statistically significant difference.
CXCL12 attracted the highest number of all three progenitor subsets inducing a highly significant response compared to the migration in absence of any chemokine at all times of fetal liver development tested in our experiments, both CLP and MP as well as for the lympho-myeloid fLMPP cells ( Fig. 5a ).
The TDT results showed a marginally significant association between TS and SNP rs4979356 and rs4979357.
a clear trendgold
Although transaminase increases were common with trabectedin, they followed a predictable pattern with a peak elevation at days 5–7 and a return to grade ≤1 at approximately day 15 of each cycle, and with a clear trend towards reduction with subsequent cycles ( Fig. 4 ) 10 , 17 .
There was an increasing trend regarding the incident age of ESRD(mean age 55.0 in 1999 and 59.5 in 2010; p value for trend: 0.01) and the percentage of patients choosing PD as the dialysis modality among the patients with PCKD (4.2% in 1999 and 10.4% in 2010, p value for trend: 0.02)during 1999 to 2010.
2a,b ) suggests that a decreasing trend over the next 30 years is possible.
Additionally, note that the corrosion rate (3 g/L) show an increasing trend from 4 h to 6 h, which can be attributed to the existence of small amount of gluconic acid originated from glucose.
However, there was a significant trend that more cells remained on the gap between the LN lines by increasing the length of spacing, presumably due to the limited migratory capacity of cells towards LN stripes during the given time overall.
In the present study, VEGF, a driving angiogenic factor, showed a trend to reduced transcript levels.
Although not statistically significant, PpIX fluorescence in ER-positive MDA-MB-361 cells showed a trend of increased mitochondrial localization compared with MCF10A cells.
As the effect sizes for the majority of these genes were small (<1 SD) and close to significance cutoff, it may explain the limitations in replicating these findings in our smaller sample set.
Promoter regions of 77 genes (44.5%) with highly significant decrease in placental expression in PE contain potential response elements for all three TFs.
There was, however, a weak trend towards increased frequencies and absolute counts of circulating T tm subset in CD4 + T cells in the meth user group but this did not reach statistical significance ( p < 0.1 in both cases).
an obvious trendgold
This map only provides information for thirteen provincial regions, and we could not find an obvious trend in the geographic distribution of BPH.
The CO concentrations showed a decreasing trend up to about 50°N, indicating a decrease in local contribution by anthropogenic sources, such as fossil fuels, north of 50°N.
There, biomass burning displayed an increasing trend starting ca. 4000 BP and remained high and stable over the last 2000 years.
The surgical duration for WAVS-assisted encircling buckling showed a decreasing trend, although there were no significant differences, probably because the surgical duration included the time spent on procedures other than marking, cryopexy, and final check of the fundus.
Analysis in fixed sections from 5–6 individuals for each treatment group showed a trend of increased cardiomyocyte width related to oil exposure with a mean (±s.e.m.) in controls of 4.03 ± 0.05 μm and ranging from 4.16 ± 0.05 to 4.24 ± 0.05 μm across oil-exposed groups ( Fig. 4B ).
