We believe this may be attributable to factors such as earlier mortality associated with fragility and the use of Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) orders, the latter of which has an established trend of increased utilization with advancing age [ 29 ].

Survivorship at the end of the study, analyzed by logistic regression, indicated that Baccharis emoryi and Salvia mellifera had higher survival than Malosma laurina and Atriplex lentiformis ( Fig 3G ), but that there was no significant effect of treatment and there was a marginally significant treatment-by-species interaction.

The noted methodological heterogeneity and variability in target population characteristics poses a challenge for extrapolating an overall trend or conclusions about the effectiveness of this stream of research.

We think that marginally significant regression results deserve mentioning, since our analyses are of explorative nature and no other study exists on the relationship between trace smartphone use and PSU in adolescence, thus we cannot ignore a significant trend which can be informative for future research.
