The difference between males and females for the hazard of mortality approached the borderline of significance ( P = 0.08).

Those with brain metastases who were graded for SVID showed a trend towards a greater frequency of SVID (48.3% vs. 27.3%, p = 0.08).

Androstadienone showed a trend toward increasing the attention of older adults to subliminal emotional faces, particularly angry ones ( Fig 1 , overall trend p = 0.08) as it had in younger adults [ 24 ].

Furthermore, besides the absence of statistical significance for the relationship between W PCr and rate of shots per rally of offensive style players, a clear trend can be assumed (i.e., r = 0.71, P = 0.08 and 1-β = 97%) and highlights the importance of W PCr development for athletes who wish to play the points with greater intensity, since rate of shots per rally could be a variable to represent intensity during table tennis matches.

Last, the share of participants who chose the taller person in the photograph when asked about knowledge differed significantly from 50% for children (girls and boys, p<0.001 in both), but only marginally significant for adults (women, p = 0.08; men, p = 0.09).

While these indirect effects were significant at the individual level, they were only marginally significant at the team level ( p = .08).

Males showed a tendency to select small females at 34°C for SZS (0.27 probability of selecting large females, Intercept P = 0.09), whereas at 36°C males showed a marginally significant preference for large females (0.61 probability, Tukey 34°C vs 36°C, P = 0.08; Table 4 ).

Similarly, lovastatin had little effect on rumen fermentation characteristics except that the proportion of propionate increased, which led to a decreasing trend (P<0.08) in acetic: propionate ratio with increasing dosage of lovastatin.

The interaction yielded only marginal significance however (F 1,28 = 3.29, p = 0.08).

STAT1 protein levels were unchanged at 2 hours and 6 hours, however at 24 hours a strong trend in increased protein production was detected in the stimulated cells ( Fig 3D , P = 0.08, + Bb 2 hours vs. + Bb 24 hours).

Also, APOBEC3B mRNA levels measured in distant metastases ( N = 35) showed a trend towards higher expression when compared to regional lymph node metastases ( N = 20) of unmatched cases (Mann-Whitney U test P = 0.08, Fig 2A ).

This sex difference was marginally significant, p = .08, d = 0.66.

Correlation between PMNs mobilization and CXCL1 plasma levels was also evaluated and we found a clear significance (r = 0.66, p = 0.001) when animals of all groups were included (n = 28) and a trend towards significance (r = 0.71, p = 0.08) when only ischemic animals were evaluated (n = 7) (Data not shown).

After controlling for Trait Anxiety, the correlation between ΔANI and Bell 1 was marginally significant for the entire group ( r = .32, p = .08), and significant for the group that failed to solve the puzzle ( r = .59, p < .05).

Post-hoc analysis using Tukey’s honest significance test (HSD) revealed that CM exposed to three types of maltreatment had significantly higher SDQ total scores than those exposed to one type ( P = 0.03) and showed a trend toward higher scores than those exposed to two types ( P = 0.08).

There was a borderline significant association for head tilt when writing (P = 0.08) ( Table 4 ).

However, monitor position demonstrated a marginally significant relationship with neck, shoulder and back discomfort ( P = 0.08, 0.09, and 0.08, respectively).

qMRI showed a trend toward higher concordance with the gold standard (subjective worsening) compared with anatomical MRI (p = 0.08), whereas differences with mJOA (p = 0.55) and comprehensive clinical assessments (p = 0.75) were non-significant.

Despite the small number of cell lines tested here, we conclude that 74% of toxicity-modulating proteins in our screen appears to be different from the random sampling of proteins (borderline significance, p = 0.08 (Fischer's exact test)).

There was a significant difference in sessile polychaete biomass among treatments (One-way ANOVA, p = 0.03), and post-hoc tests revealed a significant difference between the low-density aquaculture and natural treatments (Tukey’s post-hoc test, p = 0.03), a marginally significant difference between high-density aquaculture and natural (p = 0.08), and no difference between low- and high- density aquaculture (p = 0.89; Table 1 ; Fig 3B ).

The proportion of volunteers linked by HIV sequence similarity to their suspected transmitting partner ranged from 67.1% in the Copperbelt (Kitwe and Ndola) to 100% in Entebbe but these differences did not quite achieve significance ( Table 4 , p = 0.08, Fisher’s exact test), and they did not vary by the sex of the incident case (p = 0.27).
