It is not feasible to determine the accurate peak position of β-relaxation due to the strong overlap with the α-relaxation peak, but we see a clear trend for β-relaxation (the excess wing) to merge into the α-relaxation after annealing of Ge 15 Sb 85 .
But even though this was marginally statistically significant, the magnitude of the effect was very small (Supplementary Fig. 6b ) and thus unlikely to be biologically significant.
