Furthermore, overlapping with the age-stratified cohort (Corley et al., 2019), our PBMC signatures aligned strongly with the post mortem brain of the young cohort, such as in all ASD with 25 overlaps at a 76% consistency rate (hypergeometric p -value = 4.45 × 10 −15 , adjusted p -value = 5.34 × 10 −14 ), however, directional consistency across these age-stratified groups did not reach statistical significance (binomial p -value = 0.015 and adjusted p -value = 0.050) [ 28 ].

The proportion of this population among EpCAM-negative CTCs was significantly higher compared to EpCAM low and showed a trend-level increase compared to EpCAM high CTCs ( p = 0.0159 and p = 0.0637, relatively). 2.3.

Correlation analysis showed a significant trend between galectin-3 and mean PDL diameter (0.51; p = 0.016), and a PDL diameter of >2 mm was associated with significantly higher galectin-3 levels (45D: 23.1 ± 12.4 ng/mL vs. 15.1 ± 7.9 ng/mL, p = 0.03; 6M: 16.6 ± 4.4 ng/mL vs. 9.7 ± 4.1 ng/mL, p = 0.02). 2.5.

We did observe a nominally significant ( p = 0.016 Wilcoxon rank sum test) greater functional impact for HcDNV inhibitors in ASD cases than controls ( Figure 2 D–F), though this did not survive correction for the four equivalent conditions, so does not constitute evidence of a functional effect based on ASD diagnostic status ( Supplementary Note S1 and Figure S5 ).

A complex pattern emerged for Dimethylarginine (SDMA + ADMA) and glutaroyl carnitine: IVW analysis showed nominally significant reverse associations ( p -value = 0.0163 and 0.0276), but Steiger tests strongly rejected the reverse direction ( p -value = 0.0011 and 0.0021).

Similarly, migration and invasion capacity were significantly or almost significantly attenuated by DKK-1 knockdown in Huh7 and Hep3B cells ( p = 0.017 and p < 0.001, respectively; Figure 6 F) ( p = 0.069 and p = 0.0013, respectively; Figure 6 G).

A significant decrease and a decreasing trend occurred at T3, respectively, in PC3 ( p = 0.0179) and DC3 ( p = 0.0506), which may reflect a transient action of the phage.

NP VDR mRNA Downregulation in LDD Patients Similar to blood VDR, the analysis of NP VDR expression also showed a trend toward lower levels in the LDD group compared to controls ( p = 0.018).

The Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx) database revealed a significant trend toward increased APC mRNA expression in the prostate tissues of rs2707765 protective allele (C) carriers ( p = 0.018; Figure 2 , left) and rs497844 protective allele (T) carriers ( p = 0.21; Figure 2 , right).

Further, there was a marginally significant enrichment of lipids containing the fatty acids 16:1, 18:1, and 20:3 in their structure (hypergeometric test, p = 1.91 × 10 −2 , 1.35 × 10 −2 and 4.79 × 10 −2 , correspondingly; Figure 2 d; Table S4 ).

Replication was sought in adipose tissue where one probe, cg08897188, was found to be nominally significant ( KREMEN2 ; p = 0.0196).

When the difference in the expression levels of an individual gene was plotted against the respective LD 50 , we found a strong (R ≥ 0.9) and highly significant ( p ≤ 0.02) correlation for eight of the checked gens ( Figure 6 A–G).

The presence of gelonin reduced viability approximately 4.5 times, with the difference between two conditions being highly significant ( p < 0.02 or better for all pulse numbers).

The level of BDNF in the control group tended to reduce on day 2 in relation to day 0 (borderline significance in Friedman ANOVA, p = 0.02 in Wilcoxon signed-rank test).

Specifically, TyG showed a highly significant p -value (<0.0001), followed by TyG adjusted for BMI (TyG-BMI) ( p = 0.02), TG/HDL-c ratio ( p = 0.0005), AIP ( p = 0.0005), CMI ( p = 0.008), and CRR ( p = 0.02). 2.3.

Body surface area was not associated with IFN-γ concentration, but there was a significant trend toward decreased IFN-γ secretion with an increasing body mass index ( p = 0.021).

Serum Treatment Predicts Sperm Performance in Follicular Fluid Sperm parameters measured after serum treatment predicted respective sperm traits in follicular fluid treatment at all time points except hyperactivation at 60 min, but also this association was marginally significant (VCL 60 min: F = 5.391, p = 0.021, VCL 180 min: F = 9.402, p = 0.003, VCL 300 min: F = 9.804, p = 0.002; HA 60 min: χ 2 = 3.388, p = 0.066; HA 180 min: χ 2 = 5.802, p = 0.016; HA 300 min: χ 2 = 13.225, p < 0.001, Table 2 and Table S7 ).

AKT1S1 , SCG5 , CEACAM1 , and ALOX12B reached borderline significance between the CR and PD groups ( p = 0.022 to 0.09).

For 5α/β-reduced steroids, most had significantly lower levels in patients (n = 10), while fewer showed no change (n = 5) or higher levels (n = 1), indicating a significant trend towards lower levels ( p = 0.022).

In patients achieving PR, CD4+ T cells showed a decreasing trend, reaching statistical significance between baseline and week 6 ( p = 0.023) ( Figure 7 ).

The minor A allele of rs2228611 was associated with a lower risk of CAD ( p = 0.034); modest effect in the additive analysis but also marginal significance was found in the recessive model [OR additive = 0.404 (0.184, 0.884), p = 0.023 and OR recessive = 0.452 (0.213, 0.963), p = 0.040] after adjusting for confounders.

The SNP was also nominally significant for decline in global cognitive function (β = −0.113; p = 0.024) in the APOE 3/3 genotype group.
