In analyses including all NSCLC patients, PRSS3 gene expression showed highly significant association with both poor OS (HR 1.47, P = 2.6e-7; Fig. 1a ) and poor PFS (HR 2.15, P = 2.7e-11; Fig. 1b ).
For example, the GC rs2282679 showed a marginally significant association in the QBB cohort ( p value = 2.61 × 10 −07 ) but had a significant association in the United Kingdom Biobank cohort ( p value = 1.0 × 10 −1,268 ).
Notably, a look-up in the independent deCODE QRS duration analysis showed that rs61736454 was highly significant, however not exome-wide ([ P = 2.65 × 10 −7 , β(SE) = 3.01(0.58)], MAF = 0.002, N = 59,903), and was extremely well imputed (info score = 0.995).
Interestingly, 76% (462 out of 605) of genes showing downstream shifts in both fast Pol II strains also exhibit upstream shifts in both slow Pol II strains, an overlap that is highly significant ( Figure 4E and F , and Figure 4—figure supplement 1 ; p=2.68×10 −7 ).
A formal test for trend using ordinal measures (derived from quartile cut-points) supported an overall trend for increasing creatinine (HR: 1.42; 95% CI: 1.26–1.60; p=2.74×10 -7 ) and UACR (HR: 1.55; 1.37–1.74; p=1.18×10 -12 ) and decreasing serum albumin (HR: 0.82; 95% CI: 0.73–0.92; p=0.0005) and eGFR (HR: 0.71; 0.63–0.81; p=1.07×10 -7 ) to be associated with risk for all-cause mortality.
3 a); (2) SNPs located at DNase I hypersensitive sites showed highly significant enrichment in several tissues, with colon identified as the most significant enrichment (OR = 5.10, P = 2.74 × 10 −7 ) (Fig. 3 b); (3) SNP enrichment in different chromatin state associated regions revealed that the transcribed regions were significantly enriched in different tissues (embryonic stem cell: OR = 6.18, P = 4.25 × 10 −8 ; liver: OR = 5.55, P = 5.26 × 10 −8 ; blood: OR = 5.13, P = 1.76 × 10 −7 ) (Fig. 3 c).
We indeed find statistically highly significant negative correlations between the predicted tRNA/ribosome gene dosage ratio (Eq ( 21 )) and μ max ( Fig 3D ; slowly growing species: ρ = −0.44, P = 2.8×10 −7 , P ic = 6.0×10 −4 ; fast-growing species: ρ = −0.49, P = 4.3×10 −4 , P ic = 0.037) (see Text C in S1 File for the treatment of tRNA genes; these calculations assume a constant DNA replication rate k rep = 1000 s -1 across species, see Text A in S1 File for species-specific replication rate k rep ).
The regression analysis of changes in the species richness of ants, birds and plants along the elevation gradient showed a decreasing trend at high elevations (ants: DF = 2, Chisq p -value = 2.822e−7; birds: DF = 1, Chisq p -value = 1.450e−7; plants: DF = 2, Chisq p -value = 1.312e−6) ( Fig. 2 ).
The model shows that after controlling for coexpression and intergenic distance, bipromoter status still has a highly significant effect on gene pair conservation ( P = 2.9 × 10 −7 ); the effect of orientation was indeed much stronger than the influence of the other two variables (data not shown).
), a locus that had previously been considered by Australian[ 96 ] and Swedish researchers.[ 97 ] In a follow-up study involving collaborators from the UK and Belgium, these US researchers studied 197 multiplex families, 1,901 trio families, 1,515 cases and 3,204 unrelated controls and identified a highly significant association ( P = 2.9 × 10 −7 ) with rs6897932 a non-synonymous SNP (nsSNP) from exon 6 of the IL7R gene,[ 98 ] a result which was replicated in an accompanying paper from Swedish researchers.[ 99 ] This locus was thus the first non-MHC susceptibility gene to be identified in multiple sclerosis.
The full model was found to be highly significant when compared with the null model ( X 2 : 41.029, p = 2.9 × 10 −7 ).
The GOEAST analysis only reveals some slightly significant overrepresented GO-terms, as, for example, the Molecular Function alpha-glucosidase activity ( P -value = 2.91E −7 ).
This trend continues on day 7 where a highly significant correlation between sodium and copper was observed (R 2 = 0.8, p = 2.96e -7 ).
After excluding genesets driven solely by one highly significant gene, two genesets remained significant: ‘GOBP: regulation of mRNA splicing via spliceosome’ ( GO:0048024 , 96 genes, P = 2.97 × 10 −7 ) and its parent term ‘GOBP: regulation of RNA splicing’ ( GO:0043484 , 142 genes, P = 3.50 × 10 −6 ) (Fig. 2d and Extended Data Fig. 3d ).
On an ordinary scale progressing from control to sepsis to septic shock, Chymase levels displayed a strong and highly significant positive correlation (Spearman’s coefficient r s = 0,54, p = 3×10 -7 ), Ang 1 a significant negative correlation (r s = -0,27, p = 0,014), and Ang2 a weak but significant positive correlation (r s =0,23, p = 0,053) with sepsis severity (Supplemental Fig. 4 ).
There was a highly significant difference in 4-year PFS between the maintenance and observation group (56% vs 33%, P =0.0000003), and the median PFS was increased by almost 4 years in the maintenance group (61 vs 15 months).
The difference between these proportion was highly significant ( χ 2 = 26.87, d.f. = 1, p < 0.0000003).
We used p-values defined by Lander and Kruglyak [ 17 ] to represent specific LOD score thresholds: (1) suggestive linkage with p value = 0.00074 and corresponding LOD = 2.2; (2) significant linkage with p-value = 0.00002 and corresponding LOD = 3.6; and (3) highly significant linkage with p- value = 0.0000003 and corresponding LOD = 5.4.
