In particular, the baseline characteristics were substantially similar, with the exception of higher protein intakes and a marginally significant younger age in patients satisfying the estimated protein-calorie requirements.
Excerpts
Green vegetables also showed a trend to improve general fatigue and reduced the need to sleep but not to significant difference.
With regard to diet the differences are highly significant: within the normal diet group, 46% maintained the same weight, which is significantly the highest part.
There was also a borderline significant trend when the Western pattern was analyzed as a continuous variable ( Table 3 ).
Furthermore, in the USA, the role of companies in the supply and delivery of pumps, feed, ancillary items, management of patients on HEN and associated complications is quite significant while in Europe, HEN is usually coordinated from regional or district hospitals [ 15 ].
a positive trendgold
The association between hair zinc and height for age was not significant but did show a positive trend.
This association was borderline significant ( Table 4 ). 4.
In addition, the three CNV loci showed consistent results when the obese definition of the IOTF was applied: the deletions of 11q11 and 10q11.2 were significantly associated with obesity after FDR correction (both p < 0.05) and 4q25 showed marginal significance, with a p -value of 0.06 ( Supporting Information Table S2 ).
Significant positive correlations were found between FFQ and plasma carotenoids for α-carotene, β-carotene and lutein/zeaxanthin (52%, 47%, 26%, p < 0.001, 0.003, 0.041; respectively) and relationships between plasma carotenoids (except lycopene) and weight status metrics (BMI, waist circumference, fat mass) were negative and highly significant.
There is a lack of consistency between these data, as having a zinc intake below the recommended RDA was not a risk factor for having low plasma zinc concentrations in the children (RR = 1.02, 95% CI 0.82–1.28) and only borderline significant in the women (RR = 1.15, 95% CI 1.00–1.32).
Furthermore, the association of low 25(OH)D with total CVD and CHD incidence was borderline significant, but this excess risk can be ascribed to the fatal events in these outcomes that combine non-fatal and fatal events.
The pooled analysis showed a 4% borderline significant decrease in fracture risk per 50 pmol/L increase in B12 concentration and a 4% statistically significant increase in risk of fracture per 1 mol/L increase in homocysteine level [ 50 ].
In particular, rs28665122 in the promoter of SELS , known to influence pro-inflammatory cytokines levels [ 84 ], contributes to Hashimoto’s thyroiditis susceptibility, with carriers of the A allele having a highly significant increased risk of developing Hashimoto’s thyroiditis [ 101 ].
It is therefore potentially highly significant that patients whose tumor tissue was in the lowest quartile of nuclear SBP1 expression were significantly more likely to recur, as indicated by rising levels of prostate specific antigen (PSA), than patients with higher nuclear SBP1 [ 62 ].
a positive trendgold
The authors reported a positive trend between palmitic acid at the sn-2 position and the incremental AUC of plasma triglyceride.
In good agreement with previous studies [ 15 , 28 , 29 ], fasting insulin level in the present study demonstrated a decreasing trend with CR but only showed marked reduction in CR2 group.
Therefore, our present findings confirm a decreasing trend in energy intake, which has been observed in Spain from different surveys [ 19 , 26 , 27 , 28 ] and is consistent with a similar pattern that is occurring in most European countries [ 29 , 30 , 31 , 32 ].
For CVD mortality, the HRs (95% CI) for high and low plasma Mg groups were 2.28 (0.90–5.75) and 0.51 (0.20–1.26) in the fully adjusted model (Model 3), and the p for trend was borderline significant.
As shown in Table 4 , folate-deficient mice presented a decreasing trend in serum levels of P4 and E2 compared with normal mice.
a negative trendgold
Several recent epidemiological studies have indicated that the frequency of eating breakfast regularly has been gradually decreasing over time and that it follows a negative trend as a function of age [ 21 ].
In contrast to glucose levels, the triglyceride levels for all groups followed an increasing trend over time.
In support of the IPA prediction, Gene Ontology (GO) analysis revealed a clear enrichment for immune system related GO terms with immune system process and response to interferon-γ as the top highly significant GO terms associated with each data set.
Age and gender were of borderline significance.
Percentage body fat and age were the significant predictors with LnMLTPA having a borderline significance in the model.
As this study is exploratory, no formal adjustment for multiple comparisons was made, and marginally significant results should be interpreted with caution. 3.
