So next, we examined the protein expression of factors in the STING pathway and found no significant effect on STING protein, even if there was a clear trend for decreased STING protein for HIV/HSV, but the STING downstream factor TBK1 was significantly decreased and a there was a trend of decreased expression for IRF3 in the dual exposed DCs compared to HIV alone ( Figure 7C ).
Although a positive trend of efficacy was observed, the lack of statistical significance could be attributed to the constrained sample size.
Importantly, systemic IgG responses may be significant in preventing inflammation in those with IgA deficiency as a consequence of microbial dysbiosis ( 107 ).
The intergroup differences were highly significant.
Plasma from CD11b KO and CD11c KO mice showed a trend that their IL-27 levels were higher than that of WT mice, though statistically not signifincat ( Figure 4A ).
Concerning the evolution of the lung microbiota, these authors showed a trend to an increase in Firmicutes and a decrease in Proteobacteria in infants who developed BPD in contrast to the relatively diverse and stable community in the non-BPD group.
However, there was a decreasing trend over time in all immunology-related gene sets, indicating that Py230 primary tumors were catching up with 4T1 tumor immunology.
At day 17, MVA-ORF6- and MVA-ORF61-pre-immunized mice showed a highly significant reduction in spleen weight ( Figure 5B ) and a decrease in latent virus as quantified by the number of reactivating splenocytes ( Figure 5C ) as compared to the control groups (MVA-F6 or PBS).
When we performed the multivariate analysis, only recipient age and DGF were clinical factors significantly associated with increased risk of CMV infection; and for immunotherapy, only the protective effect of imTOR was close to significance ( Table 4 ).
In contrast, despite having B cells detected ( Figure 3A ), comparable body weights (data not shown) and plasma lipids ( Figure S5 ), while atherosclerosis was an increasing trend with mice that received MHCII −/− and CD40 −/− B cells, it did not reach statistical significance ( Figure 3B ).
This observation predicts that the NK cell-mediated anti-leukemia effect would be greatest in individuals with HLA-C alleles lacking NK-Pro activity ( HLA-C * 02, -C * 05, -C * 07, -C * 08, -C * 17 ) and lowest in individuals that possess HLA-C * 06 together with the C2-binding KIR2DL1 inhibitory receptor, a factor that may be significant when choosing donors for stem cell transplantation.
Discussion In this study, we found highly significant differences in immune cell infiltrates in endometrial tumors according to their MMR status and origin.
Quantification of CNS infiltrating CD4 + T cells ( Figure 6K ) showed a trend toward reduction of the numbers of CD4 + T cells in the brain of ICAM-1/-2 −/− mice suffering from either typical and atypical EAE.
Comparison of haplotype frequencies between patients and fertile controls revealed a highly significant association of A-C-del ( p corr < 0.001), A-G-del ( p corr < 0.001), and G-C-ins ( p corr < 0.001) haplotypes with infertility, while G-C-del ( p corr < 0.001), G-G-del ( p corr = 0.027), and A-C-ins ( p corr = 0.022) haplotypes with protection against disease ( Table 3 ).
Nevertheless, a highly significant decrease in macrophage viability was observed at a concentration of 100,000 ng ml −1 of vitamin D 2 after 24 h (13.33 ± 4.48%) and 48 h (5.67 ± 5.67%) ( Figure 2B ).
In accordance with this, GR dim/dim mice with increased levels of Opn showed a trend toward reduced Il-10 mRNA expression in the lung compared to GR +/+ mice during PBS and LPS-challenge ( Figure 5D ).
This reduced lung compliance was accompanied by a clear trend toward an increased albumin extravasation in GR dim/dim mice after LPS-challenge ( Figure 4B ), indicating an impaired lung barrier function.
Similarly, analyzing early events in another prospective study of kidney-graft recipients within their first year showed that patients with ATG induction treatment had a highly significant increase in anti-Neu5Gc IgG levels compared to patients not treated with ATG.
Although not significant, stimulation with HIV-1 Cap-RNA 630 showed a trend toward increased IL12A expression compared to HIV-1 Cap-RNA 58 after 6, 8, and 10 h of stimulation, and to a trend of increased IL27A expression after 10 h ( Figure 5D ).
( Figure 5C ); differently, the combination of aminoglycosides, particularly amikacin, with cystamine and cysteamine resulted in a persistent and highly significant reduction of intracellular CFU ( Figure 5C ).
Brains from healthy adults showed a trend to higher ZAP expression in comparison to brains from healthy neonates ( Figure 8A ); however, a statistically significant difference was not determined ( p = 0.58).
TLR3 activation via PolyIC treatment caused a slight trend to downregulate miR-221-3p and miR-27a-3p in M2-macrophages, but did not affect miR-155-5p.
For the first time, we found a possible association of FCN1 polymorphism with multiple myeloma: the genotype G/A-C/C-G/G (at positions −542, −144, and +6658, respectively) was more common among patients than among controls, although the difference only reached borderline significance.
Weak but highly significant correlations among the ficolins themselves were noted in both groups of patients (data not shown).
Quantitative analysis of Western blot analysis showed a trend of reduction in the ratio of p-p38/p38 MAPK and NLRP3/GAPDH in the aCALR pre-treated BMDMs ( Supplemental Figure 2E ).
