Of note, the list of predicted targets associated to this specific genonthology cathegory showed in particular a highly significant enrichment of the functional annotation Macrophage activation (GO term 0042116) for miR-125-5p and let-7e-5p, but not for miR-99b-5p (Figure 5A ).

After 2 days of stimulation with CpG (Figure 5 ), quantification of marker expression showed a trend for decreased expression of CD21, CD27, CD40, CD19, and CXCR5, but not the co-stimulatory marker CD86, on IL-10 + TNFα − IL-6 − B cells compared to IL-10 + TNFα + IL-6 + B cells (Figure 5A ; Supplemental Figures 2A–E ).

In contrast, C.B-17 AMs showed a trend toward greater iNOS expression than FVB AMs following co-culture with Pneumocystis .

Thus, based on the collective information with regards to their function and the observations made here, the SP genes are likely to be significant gene modifiers of CF and must be studied further.

There was highly significant association of several complement intrarenal transcripts and the degree of CKD regardless the diagnosis; C3, CD55, CFH, CFI , and C1-INH expressions positively correlated with eGFR (for all p < 0.001).

GrB expression in both NK (CD3 − CD49b + ) and NKT cells (CD3 + CD49b + ) showed a trend as unvaccinated <BCG alone <LP-ESAT-6 boost <LP-ESAT-6+MPL in both pre- and post-exposure groups (Figures 6A,B ).

The enhanced immune status observed in the present study translated in a clear trend for increased disease resistance against Phdp despite the non-significant statistical result.

Contrary however to the ascribed role of IEC-HuR in intestinal regeneration ( 16 , 18 ), IEC-HuRko mice mounted a stronger crypt hyperplastic counter-response maintained even till day 25, which was associated with a near-significant upregulation in crypt proliferation as assessed via Ki67 immunostainings during the peak of the disease at day 12 (Figures 3A,C,D ).

This was also revealed when TgATFHuR + mice were tested for sensitivity to systemic effects occurring in LPS-induced endotoxemia where these mice displayed only a mild trend of resistance to lethality (Figure 4C ).

A slight trend toward increased branching and average process length and volume were noted in combination-treated mice.

Importantly, B-I09 also significantly reduced xenogeneic GVHD by the human T cells against murine liver (Figures 6A,C ) and modestly against mouse lungs that did not quite reach statistical significance (Figures 6A,D ).

Moreover, the hemocyanin content of all the diet groups showed a trend of reduction at 24 h compared with 12 h after A. hydrophila injection.

There was a marked trend of increased percentages of IL-10 expressing cells in the PP and MLN of WT mice compared to the Il2 −/− mice (Figures 4K,L ).

Delayed EP treatment also suppressed nitrite levels induced by LPS, and decreased Inos transcript levels with a p -value approaching significance ( Supplemental Figure 3 ).

Induction therapy was similar between the two groups but (in line with what observed in Figure 4 ) there was a strong trend for a higher proportion of patients on ciclosporin in the responder group ( Table 2 ).

Combined immunization with the mixture of the fusion Xcl1-Fc protein and the free OVA SLP + CpG still resulted in a significantly better CTL expansion than in the group receiving free Xcl1 mixed with the OVA SLP + CpG, which only showed a trend for higher OVA-specific CTLs as compared to only OVA SLP + CpG.

In contrast, the expression of the proliferation marker Ki67 was increased on iNKT cell in all organs of C20:2 treated mice, while a clear trend of increase in Ki67 in iNKT cells was seen in spleen and MLN after treatment with C26:0 ( Figure 4H ).

Thus, we demonstrate that short-term treatment with C20:2 resulted in a highly significant anti-tumor effect in the Apc Min /+ tumor model, while short-term treatment with C26:0 did not have as potent anti-tumor effect as in long-term treatment.
