It should be noted that in a randomized Phase III study of axitinib in treatment-naïve patients with mRCC (one-quarter of whom were Asian), the difference in the primary endpoint of PFS between axitinib and sorafenib did not reach statistical significance in the overall population (median PFS: 10.1 vs. 6.5 months; hazard ratio 0.77 [95% CI: 0.56–1.05]; one-sided P = 0.038), but median PFS was significantly longer with axitinib than sorafenib in patients with ECOG PS 0 (13.7 vs. 6.6 months; hazard ratio 0.64 [95% CI: 0.42–0.99]; one-sided P = 0.022) ( 21 ).
For mean reticulocyte volume ( n = 176 SNPs), the primary IVW estimate did not reach statistical significance; nevertheless, the pleiotropy-robust MR-Egger analysis detected a significant protective association (OR: 0.9985; 95% CI: 0.9972–0.9999; p = 0.038), collectively reinforcing the potential involvement of erythroid traits in MS pathogenesis.
In these analyses, the HRs for AD mortality in non-aspirin NSAIDs users remained decreased but did not reach statistical significance in adjusted Cox models (HR = 0.30, 95% CI = 0.10–0.94, p = 0.039, unadjusted Cox model; HR = 0.26, 95% CI = 0.10–1.10, p = 0.060, Model 1; and HR = 0.25, 95% CI = 0.10–1.03, p = 0.056, Model 2).
While this difference, and the presence of t(14;16) and deletion (17p), did not reach statistical significance, a higher number of patients in the early progression cohort had t(4:14) (21% vs. 8.9 %; P =0.04).
Compliance rates regarding vegetable intake were higher in the simultaneous group than in the control condition ( P =.07) although this did not reach statistical significance; and respondents in the sequential condition reported smoking more cigarettes than respondents in the control condition ( P =.04).
Three studies assessed changes in femoral neck BMD, and the random-effects model showed an increasing trend (SMD = 0.24, 95% CI: −0.01–0.49), but this did not reach statistical significance, with moderate heterogeneity (I 2 = 70%, p = 0.04).
