Conversely, Akkermansia muciniphila showed a trend of higher abundance in the control group compared to the cafeteria group and the supplemented control group; however, it did not reach statistical significance ( P > 0.054).

The HBP tumour signal intensity showed a trend in the same direction but did not reach statistical significance ( p = 0.10), while elevated AFP and ALBI scores were not independently associated.
