There was a significant or borderline significant main effect of depressive states in seven n-3 PUFAs, excluding n-3/n-6 PUFAs ratio and n-6 PUFAs.
Excerpts
When further adjustments were made in Model 3 for medications for hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and diabetes, OR for copper intake remained significant, but those for zinc and manganese intakes were slightly reduced and showed marginal significance (Model 3: zinc: OR, 1.66, 95% CI, 0.89–3.09; copper: OR, 2.35, 95% CI, 1.20–4.62; manganese: OR, 1.98, 95% CI, 0.93–4.24).
an overall trendgold
Although attempts to identify consistent, specific ‘trigger’ foods that predict the development of UC have been unsuccessful, there appears to be an overall trend for an association between an animal-based diet and UC development and activity, while a plant-based diet may be protective against UC [ 8 ].
However, there was a decreasing trend in the Cd 1 +Ca H group ( Table 6 ). 3.2.
TC and LDL-C levels showed a decreasing trend after 8 weeks in both the high-level and low-level groups; however, there were no significant differences between the groups.
One study reported that there is an increasing trend in the number of meals and snacks (from here on termed eating occasions) consumed in a day among representative samples of US children aged 2–18 years, from three per day in 1977 to five per day in 2006 [ 9 ].
From baseline to endline quantitative surveys, more than half of the participants heard about any of the main food groups and this change was statistically highly significant ( Table 3 ).
A pairwise comparison between treatments in the period between days 7 and 14 indicated that the community structure of microbiotas resulting from fermentation with HPDI or LPDI did not differ significantly from one another, while almost all other pairwise comparisons resulted in nominally significant differences.
a positive trendgold
When treated with an extract from an individual plant, there appeared to be a positive trend: The scratching frequency was lowered to 44 ± 7 for A. arguta , and to 40 ± 4 for P. frutescens .
Fasting morning insulin was reduced by 47% in the LFWL group and 25% (marginally significant) in the LFWM; however, HOMA-IR (homeostatic model assessment for insulin resistance) reduction was significant in both groups.
This is particularly relevant considering that Brazil, similarly to other developing economies, has experienced an increasing trend towards the purchase and consumption of processed food products [ 15 , 18 ].
Between-group comparison revealed a highly significant and dose-dependent decrease of HOMA-IR in the BPE-C low and high groups compared to Placebo group ( Figure 5 B), which corresponded to significant mean changes by −7.2% and −18.1%, with respect to the baseline values in low and high dose groups, respectively ( Figure 5 C).
When borderline significance was present in normally distributed variables, calculations with Student’s t -test were added.
However, an increasing trend was observed one hour after treatment.
With this regard, an important study highlighted that there is a strong and highly significant relationship between being a professional soccer player and the development of ALS in a retrospective cohort study that included 7,325 male professional soccer players from the Italian First or Second Division in the period 1970–2001 [ 93 ].
It was also noted that as the ASX dose proportionally increased, the cNOS activity among the different groups demonstrated an increasing trend ( Figure 5 B).
Determinants of Diet Quality A multivariable-adjusted general linear model showed that age, ethnicity, marital status, educational attainment, and smoking status were significantly associated with AHEI; physical activity level was marginally significant ( Figure 2 ; Supplementary Table S2 ).
When the compounds are given per os, the difference in toxicity is several times lower, but it still is quite significant.
Similarly, few studies conducted on patients with parkinsonism showed a trend towards a different microbiota composition in those with reduced gait speed.
Regarding tyrosine, results are conflicting: in the Rotterdam study [ 12 ], a cross-sectional analysis revealed that a high dietary intake of tyrosine was related to lower systolic blood pressure (though results were statistically just marginally significant when considering quartiles of tyrosine intake, but they become statistically significant when considering tyrosine intake as a continuous variable), but no relationship emerged between dietary tyrosine and diastolic blood pressure.
In vitro, the effect on sucrase was highly significant at 0.5 mg/mL OLE which contains 387 μM oleuropein.
We have shown that there tends to be a negative (but not quite significant) correlation between BMI and EI/TEE calculated using an uncalibrated EI estimated by FFQ ( Table 6 ).
After preparation in August 2018, the effect of the guava fruit extract showed a trend toward a reduced blood glucose increase with a significant difference at 90 min on the 5th of September 2018.
The analysis showed an increasing trend of UIC from women not using either iodized salt or milk (median UIC 79.8 μg/L) compared to those using iodized salt (median UIC 94 μg/L) or milk (median UIC 112 μg/L) or both (median UIC 118 μg/L) [ 25 ].
The results from the randomized clinical trial in which a carrageenan-free diet was found to be related to lower relapse rate and decreased inflammation (as assessed by decreased serum interleukin-6 and FCP) should be interpreted with caution as the sample size of this multi-center trial was very small ( n = 12) and the reported p -values obtained from parametric tests were marginally significant.
