There may be a weak trend with the longevity of the photochemical species 18 , with longer-lived ethane and propane showing the most similarity between the poles (ratios of 0.7–1.0) and the shorter-lived acetylene, diacetylene and methyl acetylene showing greater contrasts (0.2–0.6).
This is because vesicles with a size comparable to the wavelength of light stop acting like point particles and show an increasing trend in scattering intensity with decreasing volume 69 at the scattering angle used for measurements (90°).
Defects in PHR1 and YJL218W result in a minor increase in GCR patch score in the sGCR assay, which is of borderline significance, and no increase in the dGCR and uGCR assays 6 .
A third transcript, MAP3K4 , showed a trend for a difference between the DM1 and UA groups in urine cells, but failed to reach statistical significance (Supplementary Fig. 5 ).
Klhl2 in CA1 pyramidal neurons did not reach statistical significance ( p = 0.07) but showed an increasing trend which is consistent with the Drop-seq data.
Although the trend was preserved for CIITA , only FCGR2B expression remained a highly significant predictor of outcome in this model (Table 2 ).
In primates, we find a significant trend in U1 motif distribution around orthologous P/E elements similar to that detected in rodents (Fig. 4e ) but no difference in PAS density (Supplementary Fig. 9 ), probably due to the low sequence divergence between human and macaque and the resulting lack of power 36 .
Discussion We identified a highly significant association between a coding variant in the manganese transporter SLC39A8 and risk of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.
We observed a strong trend in the consistency between the DREBIC score-based ranking and the actual experimental data, suggesting that DREBIC captures the inherent biological response of various cancer cell lines (Fig. 4e ).
After adjustment for rs4268748, expression levels of CDK10 in non-sun-exposed skin and FANCA in LCLs retained borderline significance for association with cSCC, with nominal association P -values of 0.0026 and 0.0025, respectively (Table 2 and Supplementary Table 10 ).
Here we find that men actually decrease their competition entry rates in HIGH compared to NEUTRAL, the difference however being only marginally significant.

Although we observed considerable variabilities in rejection ratio in some of sexual behavior assays using these mice, presumably due to viral injection surgery-associated stress, control groups in which saline was intraperitoneally injected before the assay still showed a trend of ESP22-induced increase of rejection ratio.
Cortical bone volume and cortical thickness also showed a trend towards increasing in male Npffr2 − /− mice (Fig. 6i,j ).
Thyrotropin-releasing hormone ( Trh ) mRNA showed a strong trend towards increasing in WT but not Npffr2 − /− mice in response to HFD (Supplementary Fig. 6c ).
We found a highly significant overlap between snake-diverged CNEs and the tegu limb-specific ATAC-seq peaks (green labels in Fig. 2b ), in comparison with the remaining non-diverged CNEs (Supplementary Table 8 ).

Differentially methylated regions in CSS/NCBRS The identified probes in the three sets showed a trend towards co-occurrences within genes (Supplementary Data 1 – 3 ).
Based on theoretical considerations on the relationship of canopy, volume, and individual tree mortality (see Supplementary Note 1 ), in conjunction with increasing growing stock 39 and harvesting intensity 43 across Europe, we expected a high correlation between canopy mortality and wood extraction but a negative trend in individual tree mortality.
We finally summarized all posterior distributions with regard to their median and 95% credible interval (2.5% and 97.5% quantile of the posterior) and calculated the probability of a positive trend ( P ( α > 0)).
When single-cell examination analysis of Prox1 and Pdx1 fluorescence intensities was performed at E8.5, no obvious difference was apparent between control and Robo1/2 KO ventral foregut endoderm (Supplementary Fig. 3a ).
Introduction Production of alkenes from carboxylic acids through extrusion of the carboxyl group is a highly significant process 1 – 5 considering the easy availability of carboxylic acids 6 – 11 and the synthetic versatility of alkene products 12 .
We have evaluated the concordance of the bootstrap analysis for variability of ranking with a statistical testing approach and found examples where there was a highly significant difference between the winner and the second, but bootstrap analysis showed that ranking was very variable, and vice versa.
