The International Schizophrenia Consortium also found that a collection of thousands of nominally significant SNPs collectively capture over one-third of the heritability for schizophrenia, a disease that has proven particularly refractory to the discovery of large effect alleles [ 9 ].
Excerpts
Similarly to many of the other Brassicaceae, Eruca sativa consumption might be associated with a highly significant reduction in cancer [ 5 ].
As illustrated in Figure 3 B, there is an interesting trend in the expression of these proteins that are responsible for protein folding and assembly, respectively.
annua suspension cultures, cells treated for three days with 50 mM DIMEB showed slight increases of violaxanthin, zeaxanthin and β-carotene and a highly significant increase of lutein (more than 10-fold) compared to untreated cells, thus showing the ability of DIMEB to enhance carotenoid production ( Figure 1 A).
A luciferase assay to analyze promoter activity revealed a decreasing trend after the deletion of the IRF-1 binding site on PSR promoter.
No significant change of the levels of monocyte chemotactic protein (MCP)-1 was detected, but an increasing trend induced by the exposure to ZnO nanoparticles was observed in BLM groups ( Figure 4 B).
However, their combination exerted highly significant protection against MI in these patients, and after adjustment, the protective effect against CAS without MI also became significant.
Most of our knowledge lies in the downstream effects of epigenetics, and a deeper understanding of the causes and factors that undermine epigenetic alterations may be significant in explaining the differences between the healthy and diseased states.
BGS provided highly significant brain neuroprotection in rat animal models of closed head injury, ischemic stroke, glioma brain tumors and paraoxon (PO) intoxication [ 10 , 11 , 12 , 13 ].
The global test yielded a marginally significant association for the whole estrogen-related pathway ( p global = 0.047).
Effect of BHBA on mRNA Levels of GH, PRL and Pit-1 in DCAPCs The mRNA levels of GH , PRL , and pituitary-specific transcription factor-1 ( Pit-1 ) showed a decreasing trend in the BHBA-treated groups.
Combined Effect Analysis of BMPR-IB, BMP-15 and FSHR Genes on Litter Size Highly significant interactions were observed if we randomly combined two of three genes studied and all the three genes.
Results Successful induction of thyroid dysfunction was determined via T3 showing highly significant increased T3 levels up to two to three-fold in hyperthyroid groups and markedly decreased levels in hypothyroid groups, both under normal and high-fat diet (HFD), Table 1 .
Although no differentially methylated CpG sites were identified in relation to HRO after multiple testing correction; several nominally significant CpG sites were identified in genes related to insulin signaling; energy and lipid metabolism.
A highly significant positive correlation between mTORC1 and hTERT, the catalytic subunit of telomerase was recently observed [ 278 ].
While among patients with normal perfusion the QTc interval was unaltered, pregnancies with abnormal uterine perfusion that developed pathological outcomes showed a trend towards shorter QTc.
Although our findings did not show any significant changes in SP lipids, we did find trends in which up-regulations of sphingosine and sphinganine approached significance.
Many polymeric nanoparticles are designed for efficient delivery, and the CPPs-modified particles showed a trend of increased particle size and a looser complex [ 72 ].

There was a positive trend when we analyzed the correlation between grading and sEGFR levels; patients who presented with a G3-NSCLC had lower values of sEGFR (47.5 ng/mL) as compared to patients with G1/G2-NSCLC (56.2 and 54.2 ng/mL), although this difference did not reach statistical significance ( p = 0.082).
Results were considered statistically significant when p < 0.05 and highly significant when p < 0.01. 5.
Meanwhile, the same combination cannot be considered a minimal set in the entire group, though it is nominally significant and withstands the Bonferroni correction, since the significance level of association of MIR223 *T by itself ( p corr = 0.0068) is lower than that of the combination ( p corr = 0.041).
In addition, the effects of BA, CAI 1, and CAI 3 on protein expression were only partially significant ( Figure 6 ).
Among these SNPs, a SNP, BTA-55340-no-rs b ( p = 9.72 × 10 −7 , n = 1815), located in the intron 14 of the phosphodiesterases 9A ( PDE9A ) gene was highly significant with effects on protein yield [ 4 ].
The MWM Tests In the hidden platform test, as the training days increased, the average swimming distances and escape latencies for the four groups showed a decreasing trend ( Figure 4 A,B), indicating that the mice in each group were able to learn to locate the hidden platform to some extent.
An analysis of 238 tissue samples by microarray showed a trend for BRMS1 towards a positive association with the ER [ 40 ].
