Moreover, a meta-analysis of ten different studies revealed an inverse association between metformin treatment and colorectal adenoma risk and colorectal tumors in patients with diabetes and also showed a trend in lowering the risk of adenomas in non-diabetic patients with a history of adenomas or CRC [ 125 ].
