A highly significant difference of normozoospermic fertile and infertile subjects was confirmed also when the density of mannose glycoepitopes was estimated as the ratio of total lectin reactivity to protein content in bands GNL-1–4 ( p < 0.001, Figure 3 ).

Increases in QA/TRP ( p = 0.008) and QA/KA ( p = 0.01) ratios were also near significance in hippocampus.
In hippocampus, KYN, 3-HK levels were also significantly higher than MRL, with increases in 3-HAA and QA close to significance.
a positive trendgold
Among subjects with complete data at all visits, the mean MSFC score steadily increased during the prospective observation period on treatment with IM IFNb-1a from 0.06 ± 1.64 at baseline to 0.21 ± 1.54 at Visit 5 (12 months, Figure 5 ), indicating a positive trend.
In accordance with the AXIOM trial, the majority of trials with IM IFNb-1a showed a trend towards better quality of life, particularly in the physical domains, or at least a stable quality of life [ 19 , 20 , 21 ].
These data are consistent with the in vitro observation that sulforaphane preferentially targeted cancer stem/progenitor cells instead of the bulk cell population and that the preference of sulforaphane for killing CSCs may be significant for chemoprevention.
Mutations of STAG2 and TP53 showed a trend for co-occurrence with a synergistic negative effect on prognosis when both mutations were present.
The comparison between PLMD/RLS patients and insomnia patients showed significantly increased NHP values in the “sleep” subscale and highly significant increased NHP values in the “ energy ” and “ emotional ” subscale.
a clear trendgold
Moreover, a clear trend emerged, whereby patients whose tumours had low levels of miR- 708 and high EYA3 had worse three-year relapse-free survival rates [ 98 ].
The first study monitoring differential expression and AS patterns in whole blood revealed no substantial changes in full-length transcript levels between MS patients and controls, but a highly significant differential expression of a large number of exons, with at least 340 genes predicted to undergo AS.
However, these results are only marginally significant and further study is necessary.
major homozygotes showed a similar effect of lower odds in the latter to be present, which was however reaching only a statistical tendency or marginal significance depending on the adjustments ( Table 3 ).
P-β-catenin Y333 expression displayed an increasing trend with elevated concentrations of shikonin ( Figure 5 G,I).
Cellulose and lignin were the major cell wall components, their contents under PBZ application were all lower than those of the control with 13.51% and 42.18%, respectively, and their differences all reached highly significant levels.
Low adhesion showed a decreasing trend caused by the biofilm formation on the electrodes, and from this we can conclude that the application of ATBs and complexes of SeNPs with ATBs caused disruption of the biofilm on the electrodes.
Using this comprehensive approach to integrate bioinformatics, genomics, environmental and epidemiologic data, we were able to identify environmentally responsive genes that are potentially involved in interactions with EDCs and may be significant for the development of breast cancer and endometriosis.
Association between SNPs and Traits of Interest Based on the results of the 2007 year group (Population 1) GWA analysis, 16 nominally significant SNPs were selected for genotyping in the 1999 year group (Population 2).
The relative amount of HSC71 protein also showed a trend for upregulation in mature oocytes.
Sperm counts in the d -gal-injected groups demonstrated a decreasing trend compared to those of the control group ( Figure 3 C).
a positive trendgold
This observation was irrespective of the duration of atorvastatin treatment, despite a positive trend in a combined analysis of all treatment groups.
Although in some cases the Ki or IC 50 values are in the submillimolar or millimolar range, suggesting a weak inhibition, they may be significant for infield inhibition due to the bioaccumulation process occurring for most metals in many exposed organisms under prolonged exposure [ 56 ].
The MWM Tests In the hidden platform test, as the training days increased, the average swimming distances and escape latencies for the four groups showed a decreasing trend ( Figure 4 A,B), indicating that the mice in each group were able to learn to locate the hidden platform to some extent.
An analysis of 238 tissue samples by microarray showed a trend for BRMS1 towards a positive association with the ER [ 40 ].
Quantitation of Ki67 in different skin samples demonstrated an actual majority of suprabasal Ki67-positive nuclei and, despite the limited number of samples, showed a trend toward a decrease of this suprabasal fraction with age ( Figure S3A ).
Although weight loss alone may be insufficient for maintaining skin disease remission in obese patients with psoriasis [ 55 ], some recent intervention trials have demonstrated that treatment with a low-energy diet showed a trend towards significant improvement in PASI scores among overweight or obese patients with psoriasis, and that body weight reduction in psoriatic patients receiving either low-dose cyclosporine or biologics increased the efficacy of these drugs [ 56 , 57 , 58 ].
