For example, community biomass was mainly affected by the biomass of dominant annual species, which showed the same trend with the T IP/IC of annual plants, despite a negative trend with the changes of subordinate perennial plant biomass.
We observed an interesting trend where in soils from Cadenazzo and Vouvry the expression of the four studied genes was markedly enhanced, while lower levels of gene expression occurred in soils from Eschikon, Grangeneuve, and Taenikon.
Phenotypic correlation of drought-related parameters Highly significant relationships were observed between all measured parameters for both experimental years and during the heading, anthesis and grain-filling stages (Table 3 ).
During the severe expression state, an overall trend of downregulation of sRNA biogenesis genes was observed, except a few genes that were slightly upregulated.
This faster downregulation of PYL4 is particularly marked in Ortrugo cultivar, in which the highly significant increase in ripening parameters in both years suggests that the ripening process in this cultivar started much earlier than in the other cultivars in the berries after treatment.
Highly significant genotypic differences were observed for the expression of all the different traits assessed within the Andean and Mesoamerican gene pool accessions and across the drought stress and non-stress treatments.
Conclusion In summary, comprehensive analysis of the long-term weather data confirmed that climate variability and the associated risks for crop production in semi-arid Eastern Kenya are particularly high and have an increasing trend.
Phenolic Composition in Fruit and VOO Total phenols content (TPC), calculated as the sum of phenolic fractions on a mesocarp FW basis [mg (g FW) -1 ], showed a decreasing trend during fruit development, independently of the irrigation regime ( Figure 2A ).
Variance analyses showed that genotype ( P < 0.0001) and incubation time ( P < 0.0001) and their interaction had very highly significant effects on the expression of PR-1 , PR-4 , PR-5 , and AOC.
Except for the gene GTP , F ST values for cpDNA and the other two nuclear genes ranged from 0.286 to 0.998 ( Table 1 ), indicating highly significant genetic differentiation among C. segmentifida populations.
In case of phosphorylated metabolites there was an increasing trend in the concentration of fructose-6- phosphate, glucose-6-phosphate and myo-inositol-phosphate to 3.9-, 3.3-, and 1.9-folds, respectively.
After an initial fluctuating trend, in both cases the activity of UFGT showed an increasing trend from 10 days after veraison to harvest in HT and LT berries ( Figure 7B and Supplementary Figure 5 ) and a strong and significant reduction of UFGT activity was observed in HT compared to LT from 20 days after veraison to harvest.
In the generated heat maps, an obvious trend was observed, with pairwise linkage generally weakening as genetic distance increased between mapped markers.
