In our model-based analysis ( Supplementary Table 5 ), the biocrust type treatment was only marginally significant ( p = 0.08), and the only significant pairwise difference between treatments was for moss-lichen biocrusts (μ ± 1 SD = 0.004 ± 0.002 nmol N 2 O m –2 s –1 , n = 20) vs. control samples (difference ± 1 SE = 0.0011 ± 0.0005 nmol N 2 O m –2 s –1 ).
In the case of unweighted UniFrac distance, we observed a statistical trend ( P = 0.08) that could be indicating a difference between rare microbial communities in female and male buccal cavities.
Although there were no significant differences in species richness of the communities associated with the two groups, in each body site ( Supplementary Table 2 ), there was an increasing trend ( p =0.08; inbred higher richness) in the case of the anterior intestine ( Figure 4 ).
This trend was marginally significant (ANOVA p = 0.08) in the 0–2 cm depth interval (Figure 1 ; n = 6 N-fertilized vs. n = 6 unfertilized samples, However, gene copy number normalized per gdw was not significantly different among treatments in the 0–2 cm depth interval (data not shown).
Factors C and D showed marginal significance ( p = 0.08 and p = 0.06, respectively).
The interaction between bacterial incubation temperature and frog species was nearly significant (LMM: χ 2 = 5.061, p = 0.080) and showed the same pattern as in the full dataset: bacterial products from R. sphenocephala isolates inhibited Bd growth more strongly when they had been incubated at lower temperatures. 3.3.
The relative expression level of solute carrier family 1, member 5 ( SLC1A5 ) was not significantly affected by the weaning process but showed an increasing trend ( P = 0.08).
There was a marginally significant ecosystem × rewetting interaction on composition ( P = 0.08), suggesting that deciduous forest communities may have been more responsive than bacterial communities from the other ecosystems (see Figure 3 ).

epidermidis in the oral rinse samples of patients with periodontal disease in comparison to orally healthy participants was not quite statistically significant ( P = 0.081).

The protein expression of p-FoxO1 showed a trend to increase in response to HMB supplementation ( P = 0.0815).

At 167 t ha -1 ash concentration the number of observed OTUs significantly ( p = 0.009) decreased with time while Shannon diversity showed a trend ( p = 0.082) to decrease during incubation.
The seston C:N and C:P ratios decreased significantly with water conductivity, and the bacterial C:P followed the same pattern, although with a marginally insignificant relationship ( P = 0.082) ( Figures 3A – C ).
The ADFI in the 0.25% FAMP group was higher ( P < 0.05) than that of the 1% FAMP group during 7 to 8 weeks, and showed an increasing trend ( P = 0.082) during 1 to 8 weeks.
Hence, a clear trend was observed toward an abortion history ( p = 0.083); females with two or three previous abortions had sero-prevalences of 80 and 100%, respectively.
Tree mortality caused a marginally significant increase in bacterial PD [Kruskal–Wallis χ 2 (4) = 8.22, P = 0.084], but did not alter any additional measures of alpha (α) diversity [sample level OTU richness and Shannon diversity ( Table 1 )].
We detect no significant difference between the bacterial evenness on day 3 (H = 0.592, p = 0.442), and only a moderately significant reduction in evenness of pollen with, compared to pollen without larvae, for time point day 9 and day 15 (H = 2.97 p = 0.085: and H = 2.81, p = 0.094), respectively.
On day 42, the content of MDA displayed a decreasing trend in XY group ( p = 0.085).
Elevated CO 2 alone significantly ( P < 0.05) increased the signal intensities of mcrA for CH 4 production and pmoA for CH 4 oxidation, while the signal intensities of these two genes decreased under warming at marginally significant ( P = 0.085) or significant ( P = 0.033) levels, respectively ( Supplementary Figure S5 ).

54.48 ± 4.14 mg/g, p = 0.0336) and partially reversed with borderline significance by dithizone treatment in HFD mice (mean: 48.95 ± 0.70 vs. 42.21 ± 2.90 g, p = 0.0864; 54.48 ± 4.14 vs. 37.98 ± 6.78 mg/g, p = 0.0801).
Additionally, there was an increasing trend in the number of helpful bacteria, particularly Prevotella_9 ( p = 0.087), Subdoligranulum ( p = 0.063), and unclassified_Bacteroidales ( p = 0.055), with their numbers 1.97-, 1.99-, and 4.65-fold higher than those of the CON piglets, respectively ( Figure 1D ).
The three macronutrients showed similar correlations as in the CAP ( Figure 4A ), with fat and carbohydrate being statistically significant ( p < 0.001) and protein being marginally significant ( p = 0.087).
Changes in microbial communities further exhibited a marginally significant positive effect on metabolite profiles (coef = 0.41, p = 0.087), suggesting that microbiome restructuring may be a key driver of metabolic reprogramming.
Here, we found a marginally significant negative correlation between PR expression levels and cell-specific bacterial production (Spearman Rho = −0.71, n = 7, p -value = 0.088), supporting the view that the expression of PRs may decrease under conditions of high C bioavailability ( McCarren et al., 2010 ).
