Despite showing a numerical trend toward better overall survival, TMB failed to reach statistical significance at both timepoints (median follow-up period of 23.5 and 35.5 months) ( Figures 3A, B ).
Excerpts
Patients with MSI-H tumors showed a trend toward better survival compared to those with MSS/TMB-L tumors in the TCGA-COADREAD dataset, but it was not significant.
a clear trendgold
The MSS/TMB-H group did not show a clear trend in survival.
Among all modules, the darkgreen module demonstrated the strongest positive correlation with the UC phenotype (correlation coefficient = 0.73, p = 2 × 10 −50 ), indicating a highly significant association ( Figure 1G ).
According to data released by the National Cancer Center of China, the incidence of HNSCC in China has demonstrated an increasing trend, driven by population aging and lifestyle changes ( 3 ).
Although the observed effect size was relatively small, the PERMANOVA test revealed highly significant between-group differences (pseudo-F = 3.0267), indicating that this grouping factor is a determining factor in shaping community structure.
Besides, several SM showed p-values close to significance, suggesting a possible coordinated dysregulation of the sphingolipid pathway.
Consequently, stringent multiple-testing correction might reduce power to detect true causal effects, necessitating a careful interpretation of nominally significant findings that do not survive strict FDR thresholds.
In the nominally significant candidate associations, the P values for heterogeneity and pleiotropy tests were all >0.05, and no obvious evidence of heterogeneity or directional horizontal pleiotropy was observed.
Subsequent immunocyte infiltration analysis indicated FBXL18 is significantly expressed in monocytes and exhibits an increasing trend in regulatory T cells (Tregs).
The association between antihistamine use and incident osteoarthritis supports the findings of mechanistic studies that implicated a number of allergic pathways in the pathogenesis of osteoarthritis: (1) activated and degranulating mast cells are statistically increased in the synovium of patients with osteoarthritis ( 17 ), and there is a nonsignificant trend between the numbers of synovial mast cells and the severity of osteoarthritis ( 18 ); (2) mast cell activation and the release of tryptase mediate synovitis and the breakdown of joint tissue in osteoarthritis ( 17 , 19 , 20 ); and (3) genomic analyses identified associations between interleukin-4 (IL-4) and IL-4 receptor gene polymorphisms and the development of osteoarthritis ( 21 – 24 ).
Use of post-transplant cyclophosphamide (PT-CY) showed a nonsignificant trend toward more frequent application in the early mortality group.
No significant differences in body weight were observed among the groups; however, a decreasing trend was noted in both the model and Dex groups ( Figure 3C ).
Higher expression of CCND1 and SOX4 showed a trend toward poorer prognosis, although the difference was not statistically significant.
Other infection and inflammatory pathways that were significantly increased or approached significance in cells following P. aeruginosa EV exposure include the role of pattern recognition receptors in recognition of bacteria and viruses, antimicrobial peptides, and neutrophil degranulation ( Table 1 ).
Unexpectedly, high levels of CD8 + TCF1 + cells revealed a statistical trend towards worse DFS in the TC ( Figures 1B, C , Table 1 ).
Acupuncture treatment notably reduced TNF-α and HAS2 expression ( p < 0.05), while NOS2 showed a decreasing trend without statistical significance, suggesting partial modulation of the local inflammatory microenvironment. 3.3.
db/db mice showed a significant increase in fasting blood glucose compared to db/m mice ( p < 0.01), and blood glucose was significantly improved after drug administration ( p < 0.01, p < 0.05) ( Figure 1E ), but there was no significant difference in insulin levels ( Figure 1F ), and the HOMA-IR showed a trend of difference identical to that of the fasting blood glucose with the same trend of difference ( Figure 1G ).
a clear trendgold
A scatter plot was generated for power values, and the results ( Figure 2A ) showed a clear trend throughout the range from 1, but the trend became less apparent after 18.
The relative distances among points within each sample group were notably small and tightly distributed, indicating a concentrated distribution; however, a significant trend of separation between the groups was observed ( Figure 2A ).
Low concentrations showed a trend toward higher levels, whereas intermediate and high concentrations induced a clear and significant increase compared to PBS controls ( Figure 2G ).
The results demonstrated that both global m 6 A levels and lncRNA MEG3 m 6 A levels showed an increasing trend in OA patients compared with healthy controls, suggesting the presence of abnormal m6A modification in OA.
Consistent with transcriptomic findings, the Florawhite module showed a highly significant positive correlation with body weight and a significant negative correlation with survival rate ( Figure 3A ).
Another potential pro-inflammatory bacteria, Akkermansiaceae , also showed a trend of relative abundance increase in rotenone induced PD mouse models.
Immunofluorescence with quantitative image analysis showed a decreasing trend in the proportions of Olfm4 + and Lgr5 + intestinal stem cells co-expressing Hmga2 or Myb in SAP compared with controls, although these differences did not reach statistical significance ( Figure 5J , Supplementary Figure S8I ).
