Serum ALT levels [median (IQR)] were significantly lower in cases [16.0 (11.0–24.0), U/L] than controls [17.0 (11.0–25.0), U/L] ( P < .01), while serum ALP levels were higher in cases [79.0 (66.0–95.0), U/L] than in controls [76.0 (63.0–93.0), U/L] with the difference being marginally statistically significant ( P = .07) ( Table 1 ).
