Male hamsters exhibited a weaker positive linear association that reached marginal significance (p < 0.05).

However, the replication analysis provided a support for this association with a marginal significance ( p = 0.05), given 22% of outpatients carried this haplotype in comparison with 18% of inpatients.

When the total intervention duration was ≤10 min, the improvement of the response time effect showed marginal significance (SMD = −0.68, p = 0.05), while when it exceeded 100 min, the response time did not show significant improvement (SMD = −1.03, p > 0.05).

AfA, HA and AsA adolescents We observed directionally consistent effect estimates in AfA (25 SNPs), HA (30 SNPs) and AsA (24 SNPs) adolescents relative to published results from European-descent populations, with greater than expected number of nominally significant SNP associations in AfA (eight), marginal significance in AsA (five), but not HA (three) based on a binomial draw at P <0.05 ( Figure 2 , Table 2 , and Supplementary Table 1 ).

Because results using the summary score model with the validation cohort showed evidence of lack of fit at marginal significance ( P = 0.05), and because the AUC (0.65) was worse than it was using the standard model, we did not pursue the summary score with the merged cohort.

The genetic effects of the six loci were further evaluated on the GC risk according to the confirmed histological type (intestinal and diffuse type), and the GA genotype of rs17037102 in DKK2 was found in association with an increased risk of diffuse GC with only marginal significance (adjusted OR = 1.77, 95 % CI: 1.01-3.11, P = 0.05).

Contact with goats showed the strongest association with TB (OR=2.81, 95% CI: 0.78–9.37, p = 0.089), which reached marginal significance after adjustment for age and sex (aOR=3.03, 95% CI: 1.00–9.17, p = 0.050).
