The t -test analysis fell short of significance, but this shortcoming was partly due to too much impairment rather than too little and partly due to a single animal, which displayed neither deteriorated avoidance nor increased locomotion after switching to 0.15 mg/kg MK-801 and resembled behavioral pattern observed in controls.
In contrast to the conditional responses for both groups shown in Figure 2 , the diabetic rats had lost the initial C 1 mBP pressor response at this later phase in the development of diabetic pathophysiology (upper left insert, Figure 5 ), though, given the small “ n ” for the BB animals, this between group difference fell short of significance (CS+: F 1,18 = 3.97; CS−: F 1,18 = 1.49).
In separate analyses using fits of the computational learning model (see Materials and methods; Supplementary file 5A ), all of the aforementioned results were recapitulated, with the exception that the relationship between OCD and model-based learning in Experiment 1 fell short of significance (but was significant in Experiment 2) and schizotypy reached significance in Experiment 2 as a negative predictor of model-based learning.
