Age had a negative trend effect on object use (Figure 5 ), with juveniles being less likely to use objects than infants ( β = −0.19, not significant) and subadults being even less likely to use objects ( β = −0.50, not significant); adults were the least likely cohort to engage in object manipulation, and this effect was significant ( β = −0.67, SE = 0.34, z = −1.97, p = 0.048).
