More broadly, mRNAs putatively mis-spliced in p62 −/− brains included a highly significant proportion of mRNAs (97 of 862, p = 1.57 × 10 −7 ) that bound to FUS and were mis-spliced in FUS-deficient brains 41 (Fig. 5m , Supplementary Fig. 5p ).
Excerpts
We found marginally non-significant support for two-rate models for binary (i.e., presence or absence) conjugation ( P = 0.059; Likelihood Ratio Test) and highly significant support for two-rate models for SAM ( P = 1.58e-07; Supplementary Table 4 ).
Because one individual with Dup7 included in this analysis was treated with growth hormone during childhood, we repeated the analysis testing for association of AAM with 7q11.23 copy number excluding this individual, and the results were largely unchanged and remained highly significant (F = 20.55, η 2 = 0.41, p = 1.6x10 −7 ).
In the early infection group at 15 °C, a highly significant difference was observed between acute and control treatment groups ( p = 1.6 × 10 −7 ), indicating that these groups had distinct effects on mortality.
This difference is highly significant (p = 1.639e-07).
SNP rs36259 is an exonic non-synonymous SNP located in the CERS4 gene which achieved close to genome-wide significance ( p = 6.270e−08) and was nominally significant in our original study ( p = 1.69e−7).
For classification accuracy, the difference was not statistically significant for the paretic arm model ( p = 0.8923) or the combined arms model ( p = 0.0907) but was highly significant for the non-paretic arm model ( p = 1.695 × 10 −7 ).
In contrast, defining influenza infection more loosely based on whether a participant reported having flu-like symptoms in the 2019–2020 or 2020–2021 flu seasons (43,956 cases versus 250,673 controls) led to attenuated effect sizes but still highly significant associations: OR = 0.93 and P = 1.7 × 10 −7 for ST6GAL1 , and OR = 0.95 and P = 4.0 × 10 −11 for B3GALT5 (Fig. 2 ).
Alpha‐power shift can discriminate seizure control subgroups An exploratory LDA with 10‐fold cross‐validation achieved the following performance parameters (mean ± SD [95% CI]): sensitivity of 71.2 ± 3.9% [63.5%, 78.8%], specificity of 79.6 ± 2.2% [75.2%, 83.9%], and AUC of 78.8 ± 1.0% [67.7%, 89.8%], which was highly significant ( z ‐test, P = 1.7 × 10 −7 ).
For each parameter and across the 1000 parameter sets, f del shows a highly significant correlation to S , but one that is only modest in value for some parameters (Spearman’s R = 0.16–0.76, P < 1.7×10 −7 , n = 1000 for all parameters), illustrating that S cannot generally substitute as a measure of f del .
Nominally significant associations were also observed for ‘Age when periods started (menarche)’ ( P = 1.7 10 -7 ), ‘Non-cancer illness code, self-reported: endometriosis’ ( P = 3.8 10 -7 ), ‘Part of a multiple birth’ ( P = 4.6 10 -7 ), supporting the findings from the GWAS catalogue look-up.
One-way ANOVA confirmed highly significant differences across doses (F(5,12) = 47.4, p = 1.7 × 10 −7 ), with Tukey’s HSD post-hoc tests revealing robust separation from 2 Gy onward.
When we compared our promoter and gene body associated VMGs (271 genes) with that of Harris, we found highly significant overlap of 43 genes ( P = 1.75 × 10 −7 , hypergeometric test).
approached significancep = 1.75 × 10 −7
However, the locus at 9q31 spanning RAD23B identified in the analysis of AD+A again approached significance (Table 3 , best SNP rs60819822, O.R. 0.86 (0.81, 0.91), p = 1.75 × 10 −7 ).
[ 24 ] is also highly significant (OR = 3.1, P value = 1.8e−7).
In the case of Apoc3 , while there was no significant eQTL in liver, there was a highly significant eQTL in adipose tissue ( P = 1.8 × 10 −7 ) (supplemental Table S3).
We found a highly significant association between the increase in WAT ferritin levels and improvements in insulin sensitivity (FTL, P = 1.81 × 10 −7 ; and FTH1, P = 4 × 10 −7 ) ( Fig. 5, A and B ).
4 and supplementary table S11 , Supplementary Material online), and a simple permutation test shows this observation to be highly significant ( P = 1.9 × 10 −7 ).
In agreement with the LDA approach, the differential expression analysis revealed a nominally significant increase in the expression of RvE3 in pwALS at baseline compared to NNC (nominal P = 1.91 × 10−07), an upregulation seen in all pwALS phenotypes (1.33 × 10−06 < nominal P < 0.00314).
3 C, the difference in cell uptake between test groups with and without magnetic field was extremely significant ( P = 1.94 × 10 −7 ).
Activity An RM-ANOVA revealed highly significant effects for both treatment (F(7, 48) = 9.66; p = 1.95 × 10 −7 ) and the interaction between treatment and time (F(35, 240) = 2.68; p = 5.61 × 10 −6 ) on locomotor activity (LMA), as defined in the Methods section.
The association between MRS and ΔBMI in non-smoking samples is highly significant (n = 1,243, β = 0.045, p = 1.96 x 10 −7 , R 2 = 0.021), albeit with a slightly diminished effect size estimate (empirical p < 0.0061, calculated using 10,000 random samplings of 1,243 FHS samples) compared to association in all samples (n = 1,508, β = 0.055, p = 5.80 x 10 −12 , R 2 = 0.031).

Lab values of included intervals ), mean baseline HIC and SF were not different (p < 0.7 and p < 0.2 respectively); overall, HIC and SF worsened during deferiprone treatment (p < 0.001 and p < 0.0003, respectively), and improved during deferasirox treatment (p < 0.001 and p < 0.0001, respectively); follow-up HIC values differing between deferiprone and deferasirox monotherapies were highly significant (p < 0.0000002).
