Although the level of evidence is probably still insufficient, a positive trend can be observed.

In addition to the warming, there has been thinning of ice shelves in the Amundsen Sea Embayment (ASE) and an associated acceleration and thinning of West Antarctic outlet glaciers which has resulted in a negative trend in ice-sheet mass balance and a faster rate of global sea level rise 12 – 18 .

In our present study, GWAS detected a highly significant association on LG 8.

When both NHOF-1 and NHOF-5 were combined and their zero time controls compared with their corresponding levels at day 20, 39 metabolites were significantly altered but the previously reported citrate only showed a strong trend, because of a large outlier in the NHOF-1 control group (Supplementary Table S1A ).

Despite wide confidence intervals, changes over time in relative abundance were highly significant for both species.

In the subgroup of acylcarnitines, each beta-estimator for fasting status was highly significant and the interaction terms protein*ft and mineral nutrients*ft for medium-chain acylcarnitines and dietary fiber*ft for long-chain acylcarnitines showed also significant p -values at a significance level of p < 0.1.

While there was no significant difference in the severity of fusions between male and female mice, we observed a clear trend in reduced severity of fusions and reduced prevalence of fusions in female mice, a result that parallels known gender differences for the human disease 1 [Fig. 1g ].

In concordance with 72 hour data, adipocyte co-culture showed a decreasing trend in the total number of migratory cancer cells in all samples (Supplementary Fig. 5 ).

Expression Quantitative Trait Loci (eQTL) analysis We examined 127 TCN1 -related SNPs for associations with TCN1 expression and found that 6 were nominally significant at the 0.05 significance level.

The serine protease inhibitor, serpin A1 (SERPINA1), along with THBS-1 and THBS-2 were also among the other abundant proteins with highly significant changes compared to the normal tissues.
