Interestingly, at the 16 October sampling, there was a notable trend for a greater net loss of N under the June-sown catch crop treatments than other August-sown treatments and the fallow control, despite the greater amounts of N that had been taken up by the respective crops.
In our study, although no statistical differences were observed between the treatments, there was a slight trend towards greater firmness in figs covered with NPs and P.
The F 2 plants were genotyped with BstNI_ 8.89 and a highly significant association between this marker and DSI was obtained [ P (F) = 1.5 × 10 −85 , R 2 = 91%, Table 6 ]. 2.9.
Consistent with the aforementioned results of PF and MR, the reduction in the I 2 amplitude ( Figure 7 A,C,E,G) suggests a decreasing trend for PSI reduction activity at a high planting density.
Food Agricultural and Organization of the United Nations (FAO) reported that, from 2010 to 2015, there was an increasing and a decreasing trend of global plantations and natural forest areas, with the rate of 3.3 million ha/year and 6.5 million ha/year, respectively [ 2 , 25 ].
Statistical Analysis Significant differences in physiological traits among treatments and genotypes were analyzed using Duncan’s multiple range test (DMRT) in DPS7.05 software, and the differences at p < 0.05 and p < 0.01 were considered significant and highly significant, respectively.
Analysis of variance revealed highly significant differences among RILs for all traits in each year, while the combined analysis across years revealed significant effects of RILs, years and genotype × year interaction ( Table 1 and Table S1 ).
The effect of growth form on N concentrations in plant tissue (close to significance after correction for multiple testing) explained 9.3% of the variance, whereas the full mixed-effects model (including random effects) explained 34% of the variance.
However, the Eps-7D × temperature interaction was significant but not cross-over: the NIL with the Eps-7D - late allele was always later to flower than that with the early allele ( Figure 1 ), although the magnitude and level of significance of the difference between NILs with the late or early allele was affected by the growing temperature (i.e., difference was least, and non-significant under SD, at 18 °C and largest and clearly significant at 9 °C; Figure 1 A,B).
A clear trend related to resistance level for GSB was observed with the presence/absence of susceptible (S) and resistance (R) alleles of the QTLs ( Figure 4 a).
Hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ) that was detected 30 min after Botrytis application with an increasing trend up to 240 min, is possibly convening tolerance against B. cinerea at short-time exposure, but when increasing at relative longer exposure, is becoming a damaging molecule.
The possibility of using different legume types in various forms in order to create innovative foods such as pasta [ 1 ], yoghurt [ 2 , 3 ], bakery products [ 4 , 5 ], drinks [ 6 ], etc., is an increasing trend nowadays that may satisfy the consumer demand.
In the combined analysis of variance, the main effects, genotypes and environments were highly significant (52 + 136.1)/284.1 and explain 66.2% of total variation.
The predominance of water limitation on dryland plant diversity showed a weak trend with decreasing aridity, while the effects of energy on plants were found to be significant in mesic regions.
Population size, as well as the size of each subpopulation, showed significant fluctuations during the monitoring period (except for subpopulations Mb6 and Mb12 which showed an increasing trend).
Mean Variability in Seedling Traits In the experimental setup including 127 wheat genotypes and two growing conditions, highly significant variation was unveiled among the wheat genotypes in both growing conditions for all seedling traits ( Table S2 ).
