Importantly, a comparative analysis of the genes downregulated upon CtBP1 depletion showed a highly significant overlap with the genes downregulated upon FBXO32 depletion (Fig. 4b ).

Fourth, the associations with gene expression involve healthy participants and have relatively modest significance levels.

They will also neglect moderately significant SNPs in favour of the most significant SNPs despite potentially overwhelming support from correlated SNPs and proximity to biologically relevant genes.

Analysis of animals injected with control AAV over the 3 months of high-fat diet, exhibited a slight trend toward increased body weight for Notch1 ECKO animals at time of harvest (Supplementary Fig. 8b ).

Gene set enrichment analyses (GSEA; Broad Institute 35 ) determined that nominally significant gene correlates of Cacna2d1 (Supplementary Data 1 ) were significantly enriched for plasma membrane localization (Fig. 2g ) and for functions related to neuronal function and excitability, including ion channel activity, substrate-specific channel activity, metal ion transmembrane transporter activity, ion transmembrane transporter activity, and receptor activity (Fig. 2h ).

Relative quantification of the ADPL signal for these enzyme targets yielded highly significant signal increases of ~10–250-fold for both PAFAH2 and ESD, relative to background (Fig. 2c, d ).

We note that the pre-edge intensity from XB interactions is essentially zero in Dye-F •+ , and quite significant in both Dye-Br •+ and Dye-I •+ .

For each of these diseases, the associations with Prevotella were weakly significant or complicated by confounding factors.

After accounting for this phylogenetic structure, parity mode remained a highly significant predictor of social grouping across species (Table 1 ).
