Notably, the group with a Type 3 TIL profile displaying elevated CD3+ TILs and high lymphocyte GZB and/or Ki-67 showed a clear trend toward better survival in this population ( P = 0.09, log-rank test, Fig. 5d ).

For sarcomas, 3/6 Δ122/Δ122 IL-6+/+ mice showed metastases to the gut, liver, spleen, pancreas or lymph node; 1/3 of Δ122/Δ122 IL-6+/− mice had a single metastasis to the heart; and 0/4 Δ122/Δ122 IL-6−/− mice had metastases, although this did not quite reach statistical significance ( p = 0.09, χ 2 -test; Table 2 ) due to low numbers of tumours.

In contrast, among individuals with IR, food preference scores showed a trend to increase under INI ( T (19) =1.77; P =0.09, d =0.16, n =20, t -test) ( Fig. 3a ).

However, the effect over lateral motor areas remained marginally significant even when posterior 8–14 Hz activity was included as a co-variate ( β =−0.068±0.038, t 20 =−1.8, P =0.09), suggesting that this motor effect was at least partially distinct from the more posterior effect.

The results for intraspecific variability contrast with the effects found for the intraindividual level, as only for intraindividual FDiv of PC2 we found a marginally significant decrease with tree species richness (χ 2 (df = 1) = 2.74, P = 0.09, β = −0.09; Supplementary Fig. 2c ).

After additionally controlling for health-related variables, the results for both CVD and cancer mortality were still persistent, although the association between mixed group and all-cause mortality became marginally insignificant (HR = 0.91, 95% CI: 0.82–1.02, P = 0.09).

This increase in hybrid individuals is marginally non-significant ( P = 0.09), but represents a hybrid fitness advantage of 1.65 relative to the resident (non-hybrid) adults (Table 2 ).

Fbxo24 KO mice showed a trend toward decreased bacterial loads compared to WT mice (Fig. 2b P = 0.09).

Further, the match > mismatch contrast seemed to characterize the decrease better than the linear contrast, which was only marginally significant (contrast M = 0.005, SD = 0.014, CI: [−0.001–0.012], t (18) = 1.76, P = 0.09, Cohen’s d = 0.40, see Fig. 3 ).

Embryonic myr-AKT-AAV1 treatment also showed a trend for amelioration of invasion volume under a setting of 20% FBS w/o HI albeit without a statistical significance ( P = 0.0906) (Supplementary Fig. 9H–K ), suggesting a partial efficacy of AKT1 transduction to alleviate the defects by COX-2 insufficiency and also its limitation to recover other unknown defects with FBS.

CCR2 (−/*) line 12 lignins showed a trend towards releasing more monomers (H + G + S) when compared to wild-type lignins ( P = 0.092), indicative for a slightly higher frequency of β– O– 4 interunit bonds.

Specifically, specialists showed a trend of reduced pathways for nitrate/nitrite transporters (BinaryPGLMM, P = 0.092, nrtB/nasE/cynB , K15577; P = 0.092, nrtA/nasF/cynA , K15576; P = 0.103, nrtC/nasD , K15578; Supplementary Fig. 8 and Supplementary Data 12 ) and assimilatory nitrate/nitrite reductases (BinaryPGLMM, P = 0.099, nasC/nasA , K00372 ; P = 0.103, nasE , K26138; P = 0.103, nasD , K26139; Supplementary Fig. 8 and Supplementary Data 12 ).

Quantification of RNAscope showed a trend towards increased number of Ghsr ( p = 0.0922), but not Cartpt ( p = 0.4598), or Slc17a6 ( vGlut2; p = 0.2668) expressing cells in female mice, compared to male counterparts (Fig. 4D ).

Longer maternal viremia duration showed a trend toward increased ventral contact duration ( p = 0.093) but was not associated with approach behavior ( p = 0.367) (Table S11 ).

Furthermore, haplogroup T, which has been associated with obesity 45 , 50 , showed a trend to being under-represented in individuals under the 10th and 25th birthweight percentile ( p = 0.094 and p = 0.04, respectively, however, these values are not significant after Bonferroni correction for multiple testing, Fig. 2a , b and Supplementary Tables 8 and S9 ).

Data from VTA/SN were less clear, with a main effect of context in VTA/SN showing only as a weak trend (−5, −19, −12; Z =2.49, P =0.095 SVC; P =0.006 uncorrected).

While this difference only showed a statistical trend (t (15) = 1.78, P = .096), this univariate effect would still impact multivariate decodability, as there are on average more ‘diagnostic’ units in EC than hippocampus.

All enhancers maintained high specificity for their intended cell type target, with a small trend towards lowered specificity with nuclear mBC constructs (Welch two sample t-test: P = 0.096; mean ± standard deviation: 86 ± 13% (mBC nuclear constructs) compared to 92 ± 10% (original constructs), Fig. 1m ), possibly due to better detection of weakly (often off-target) expressing cells resulting from the higher signal-to-background ratio of the nuclear reporter compared to the cytosolic reporter (insets of Fig. 1e–g, i–k ).

Our result from a single experiment indicated that the addition of SB431542 showed a trend of increasing wound closure rate in ARID1A WT cells (Supplementary Fig. 4D , p = 0.097, slope comparison–linear regression test), while the closure rate of ARID1A KO cells was not affected (Supplementary Fig. 4D, p = 0.983, slope comparison–linear regression test).

After FMT there was a significant increase in bacterial richness (Wilcoxon matched-pairs singed rank test, p = 0.019) and a marginally significant increase in bacterial diversity (Wilcoxon matched-pairs singed rank test, p = 0.098) in FMT responders (Supplementary Figure 4b, c ).

CnpCre +/- ::EPOR fl/fl mice showed a trend towards a reduced cognition index in the place learning task ( p = 0.099) and a decreased cognition index in reversal learning ( p = 0.042).

Similarly, the interaction between sedentary behaviour duration and diabetes showed a trend (adjusted p = 0.099) but was not statistically significant after multiple comparison correction.

All gene sets that were moderately significant across all of the analyzed sets of ranks in any direction (unadjusted p < 0.1) were selected for inclusion in the heatmap showing enrichment scores by gene set.

Concurrent with the overall acceleration in global ISA expansion over time, the annual carbon loss calculated by averaging the emissions derived from all ISA products showed a small trend of 0.36–0.78 Tg C yr −2 ( p = 0.10/ p < 0.05) over 1993–2018 (Fig. 1c ).

Additionally, in cases where either missense-variant score test used in the sLRT was nominally significant ( p < 0.1), we combined missense and protein LOF variants for joint tests.
