In short, there is a nonsignificant trend for fasting to reduce diversity, which refeeding then restores, in the fasting+DASH arm, whereas no such trend is visible in the DASH-only arm.
Excerpts
Despite differences in genotyping methods, filtering, FDR controls, choice of covariates, and reference assemblies, all 15 loci were at least nominally significant in both tests, and 6 of 15 were identified as eSTRs/eVNTRs in both studies.
These eVNTRs had highly significant p values (Supplementary Fig.
However, xCT suppression also showed a trend toward sensitization for Auranofin (Supplementary Fig. 8h, i ).

Strikingly, there was a clear trend of several of these enzymes to be expressed at higher levels in non-NE SCLC cells explaining the elevated levels of ether-linked PUFAs detected.
We chose these trials because they were either positive trials 17 , 31 , 32 or had a subgroup that showed a trend towards a treatment response in previous publications 22 , 25 .
Despite integrating all these considerations in the GPS data processing, it is important to notice that the remaining noise may be significant, as it has been recently analyzed in great detail in Guerrero 27 .
AAD patients also had lower Chao1 indices compared to ND patients whereas a decreasing trend was observed in Shannon indices, however, not sufficient to be significant (Fig. 3a, b , p = 0.017 and p = 0.087, respectively).
Whereas even without treatment, the embryos carrying the transgene displayed precocious PGC death at both ES 10 and 13 as compared with corresponding WT embryos (presumably due to leakiness of the transgene minimal promoter), this trend became highly significant after the heat shock treatment (Supplementary Fig. 5c–g ).

For 183 kDa PS, average strain at failure was observed to be greater in the FOW measurements, whereas yield stress did not show a strong trend (Supplementary Figs.
If a trend toward significance is obtained, the experimental number is expanded to another 4–6 mice per group.
The remaining two variants were nominally significant in our study (Supplementary Data 3 ).

Despite a clear trend towards metabolic simplification, Vampirococcus , as well as other related CPR bacteria, presents a high degree of evolutionary innovation.

In the ALL-SIL cell line, P-S6 regulation did not show a clear trend within the first 72 h.
The phosphosites associated with membrane trafficking showed an increasing trend in late-stage tumors (Fig. 6g ).
Interestingly, histological analyses of iLNs of BPA +/+ mice at maximum tolerated tumor size (59 days versus 42 days of BPA −/− ) showed a trend of increase in the pigmented areas of BPA +/+ similar, yet lower than that observed in BPA −/− mice (Fig. 4a–d ).
First, consistent with previous work 13 , lymph-node metastasis, as well as the related N-stage, had a highly significant association with pEMT in the malignant-basal subtype of HNSCC.
Moreover, higher hRNase 1 expression significantly correlated with poorer survival in tumors with grade 2 in a near-significant trend (Fig. 1b ), and hRNase 1 appeared to be a more significant poor prognostic factor in breast cancer patients with lymph node (LN)-negative non-metastasis, compared with those with LN-positive metastasis (Fig. 1c ).
For the 61,575 genes that had representative sequences in UniRef, were FDR-significant, were robust, and were associated with IBD, 2104 (3.4%) were nominally significant in the validation cohort.
SPARC models thus predict a decreasing trend in ODS lifetimes, reflecting the disequilibrium between tropospheric and stratospheric concentrations when tropospheric concentrations are increasing.

Without expectation maximization, the extreme labels (i.e., 0,1) track well with helix stability, but structures labeled between 0.1 and 0.9 do not show a clear trend of helix compaction.
During that time, global river discharges showed a trend of decreasing N:P due to human activities and P was considered the primary limiting nutrient in surface waters 95 .
A gene-set enrichment analysis against the MSigDB pathway database ( http://software.broadinstitute.org/gsea/msigdb/ ) identified the Hedgehog and Wnt pathways as highly significant gene sets associated with Meis-binding sites (Supplementary Fig. 3 ).
In contrast, EcM-associations may contribute to the neutral latitudinal trends in beta-diversity and species turnover, but contribute to an increasing trend in species nestedness of host trees with latitude (Fig. 2 ), possibly through positive PSFs and habitat adaptation 26 , 34 , 36 .
Similarly, weaker PSFs may also shape a decreasing trend of total beta-diversity for EcM trees and a neutral trend of total beta-diversity for AM trees via species turnover and species nestedness because total beta-diversity is the sum of species turnover and species nestedness.
