Gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) 45 showed a highly significant inverse correlation between the changes in gene expression elicited by ULK3 silencing and gene signatures related to poorly versus highly differentiated Head/Neck SCCs, HKCs with silencing of the ESR2 gene, a positive determinant of keratinocyte differentiation 46 , loss of TP53, and upregulation of the pro-tumorigenic TP63, Hh/GLI and MYC signaling pathways (Fig. 4b ).

Evaluation on both cohorts similarly confirms the predictions as highly significant yet also characterises the predictions as having a high false-positive rate; expectations are that for roughly 1/3–1/2 of confirmed high-scoring predictions, the causal genetic explanations will be true.

8a, b , after the local administrations of the primary tumor twice, it can be clearly observed that the distal tumors of the control (PBS group) mice progressed rapidly, and the distal tumors of the mice in the TLND group also showed a trend of proliferation and growth, while the distal tumors of the mice treated with Ang-PAMSe/TLND nanomotors almost completely disappeared, implying that Ang-PAMSe/TLND nanomotors had a good effect of inhibiting and clearing the distal tumors.

However, those three proteins may be significant in regulating OS protein transport through the CC.

By contrast, the absorbance curve A (405-490nm) of the thrombin-initiated system showed an increasing trend with decreasing cleavage rate ΔA/min, which only persisted for 20 min when at 10 –2 Unit μL −1 .

1c and d , respectively) responded in any significant manner to exposure to Xt3a, with the exception of a weak trend towards increased activity with 1 nM and 10 nM concentrations (Fig. 1c ).

Though fed insulin only showed a trend towards increase (Fig. 7d ), Thada -KO mice displayed significantly improved glucose tolerance compared to their WT littermates after HFHS feeding for 12 weeks (Fig. 7 e, f), without change in insulin sensitivity (Fig. 7 g, h).

Since this is hypothesis-based research, we also considered P < 0.05 to identify nominally significant associations that could be examined in future studies.

Plasma triglycerides were significantly increased in ablated compared with control females, while males showed a possible trend toward an increase but this was not significant (Supplementary Fig. 3 ).

ITA showed a trend toward increased gene expression of Nfe2l2 ; however, the expression of the downstream target gene transcripts was not significantly increased (Supplementary Fig. 5i ).

Moreover, the MSI score and the TMB exhibited a moderately significant correlation (Fig. 2d ), indicating that the higher TMB observed in metastatic tumors could be linked to a higher MSI status.

In addition, the tensile strength showed a decreasing trend.

Overall, one can see that the modulus of the nanofibrous membrane showed a trend of decreasing first and then increasing.

Thus, the reinforcement effect of TiO 2 nanoparticles was clearly significant.

The forced AMOC response exhibits a clear trend, decreasing to GHGs warming and increasing to aerosol cooling 4 , 20 , 27 (Fig. 4a ).

In summary, while differences in individual readouts were not statistically significant, the thermostable vaccine presentation exhibited an overall trend of greater CD4 + T cell cytokine response frequencies compared to the non-thermostable vaccine presentation.

We find that for the Considerate and Lucrative groups, which showed strong preferences on the 10th trial, removing the quantity that guided their choice most, led to a highly significant change in their choice allocation (Fig. 4 ), while removing the quantity that guided their choices less, left their choices unchanged.

We also observed an increasing trend of protein level of total LOX after dosing bleomycin at either 7 a.m. or 7 p.m., while activated LOX only showed an increasing trend when bleomycin was dosed at 7 p.m.

Although we did not observe a significant difference in DCA levels, there was an increasing trend, which might cause more damage to the liver and promote ICP development.

Although PASC patients showed a trend toward increased viral reactivity in general, no specific viral targets beyond SARS-CoV-2 could be identified as correlated with PASC (Supplementary Fig. 3 ).

We observed a decreasing trend in CDCA levels in the small intestine of B. fragilis -colonized mice, which might further contribute to the reduced intestinal FXR signaling.

TWSG1, a protein risk factor also found to be an independent risk factor for CKD progression 20 , with a nominally significant MR association in CKDi25 in our study, is an antagonist of BMP 7, which is produced in the kidney and is protective against renal fibrosis and other types of renal injury in experimental models 21 .

This process, induced in vitro by incubating mature gametocytes at room temperature 34 , revealed a highly significant nearly four-fold decrease in exflagellation centers in Y268S mutants as compared to isogenic controls, likely reflecting an increased demand for mitochondrial respiration 35 .

After ~6 ka BP, δD fi shows an increasing trend, with an average value of ~9.46 ‰ (Fig. 2a ).

Q5 δ 13 C values range from -6.4‰ to 1.1‰, with relatively stable values (~ −1‰) from ~10.8 to 6 ka BP and a decreasing trend from~−1‰ to ~−5‰ since ~6 ka BP (Fig. 2 ), suggesting slightly lower P-E (or effective wetness) in the early and middle Holocene compared to the late Holocene.
