Simple regression analysis showed a positive trend with the dose of acrylamide for SOD-1, NQO1, GST-M, Nrf2, and MT-1 in both treatment groups, and a significant increase in HO-1 in sulforaphane-untreated mice and in GST-M5 and TXNRD1 in sulforaphane-treated mice ( Table 3 ).
Besides, the more widespread use of other hypoglycemic drugs with proven cardiorenal benefits would have rendered it more difficult to reach a significance, even in the presence of a favorable trend, although it cannot be excluded that small differences between drugs in the class result in different outcomes.
Therefore, and given that age also showed a trend, a univariate variance analysis was performed to compare all the studied markers, introducing BMI and age as covariates, in order to eliminate their possible confounding effect.
In an analysis of patients with febrile seizure, patients with prolonged seizures showed a trend for higher IL-1β and lower IL-1RA levels in blood samples than in controls [ 63 ].
Butanoic acid propyl ester showed a trend towards an increase and (z)-2-butene and acetoacetate methyl ester towards a decrease in mice gavage fed with (S)-reutericyclin.
Adding cell-free 0.2% HA or 0.2% HAL [ 30 ] did clearly diminish recovery rates, while adding 0.4% or 0.7% M-HAL as luminal filler (current study) showed a trend of increasing TA muscle recovery rates over those achieved with empty nerve guides or CNG filled with cell-free 0.2% HA or 0.2% HAL.
However, the incidence of cancer concerning the group of patients with MI but without HF was present and even showed an increasing trend, but it was not as noticeable as in the group with HF.
At both transfers analysed, and as it happened in L1, substitutions that disappeared at later stages (C2452U, U3402C and U3784C; yellow cells in Table 3 and Table 4 showed a trend to be present in genetic backgrounds containing few mutations from those that fixed at transfer 25 (grey cells in Table 3 and Table 4 ).
In an independent study on melanoma biopsies before treatment, a highly significant correlation of CD4, CD8, CD3, PD-1, and LAG-3 expression in tissue lesions with anti-PD-1 treatment response was observed [ 10 ].
HG + HI), cultivation under dynamic flow conditions in the bioreactor system showed a trend towards thickening of the lamina spongiosa under HG + HI cultivation ( Figure 4 B).
TGFβ expression was significantly higher and SPP1 expression was reduced by a slight trend under dynamic cultivation when comparing basal NG conditions to static cultivation ( Figure 2 B,C). 2.2.
At the same time, decreases in proton leak as energetic change were detected following RT and/or metformin treatment as proton leak is a highly significant aspect of mitochondrial energetics and is implicated in oxygen consumption.
We also observed a decreasing trend in the proportion of very budded high-glucose-treated organoids (those with > 3 buds) with respect to control organoids ( Figure 2 D). 2.3.
Colloid Versus Tubular IPMC All of eight studies investigating colloid type and tubular type IPMC for the main pathological characteristics ( Table 2 ) reported significant or almost significant trend towards less nodal metastasis in colloid carcinomas (16–29% versus 37–63% in tubular type).
The expression of Col1a2 , which is known to be increased by VC, was significantly increased by day 3 after calcification induction in αMEM (-) and showed an increasing trend in cells cultured in αMEM (+).
In this case, the analysis of concordant SNPs revealed highly significant overlaps, especially for the 1% most significant SNPs together present in Endometriosis and Migraine (85) compared to those that were discordant (43), revealing a 3.61 Odds Ratio compared to the null hypothesis ( p = 7.2 × 10 −4 ).
It is nevertheless important to notice that except for specific population where strong bottlenecks occurred, the relative risk provided by each risk allele is always less than 1.4, with p -values that are clearly significant due to the quite large number of patients analyzed in each of the studies, this number being even increased by gathering of samples in subsequent meta-analyses.
Also, catalase activity showed a trend to increase in both examined brain areas after chronic stress and this may be in response to the intensification of oxidative stress.
Although statistically significant results were observed only with HDR, a slight trend of positive association of radiation dose and inflammatory cells was noted for the 100 mGy dose as well.
The thickness of the blood–gas barrier demonstrated a highly significant correlation with the fraction of surface area of basal lamina covered by AE2 cells and the volume-weighted mean volume of lamellar bodies ( Figure 5 A,B).
