Analysis of fluorescence intensity revealed a highly significant increase in migration of bMEC in the direction of CM from preadipocytes when compared with all other controls and tested conditions ( Figure 5 A).

Therefore, and given that age also showed a trend, a univariate variance analysis was performed to compare all the studied markers, introducing BMI and age as covariates, in order to eliminate their possible confounding effect.

Amongst all studied proteins, only the expression levels of NPM1 and phospho-c-Myc (Ser62) showed a trend towards an increase in both BRAF-mutated cell lines ( Figure 3 ), albeit statistically non-significant when compared to other cell lines.

NPC1 fibroblasts showed highly significant differences from control cells, with an inappropriate homeostatic response to intracellular cholesterol accumulation.
