Novel Candidate Genes and Pathogenetic Pathways Several genes could be potential candidates for future studies as those observed with a highly significant functional enrichment, high connectivity/direct protein-protein interactions, and highest score for dominant, recessive, and heterozygous compound models ( UGT1A3, UGT1A4, UGT1A5, UGT1A6, UGT1A7, UGT1A8, UGT1A9, UGT1A10, AOX1, NOTCH1, HIST1H2BB, RPS3, THBS1, ADCY9, FGFR4, OR10G4 , ITIH3 , PLEKHG4B , SLC9A3 , ITGA2 , ALPP, PER2 , PTPRD , CDYL , KDM5A , RASGRP1 , MYBPC2 , PDE4DIP , F5 , and OBSCN ) ( Table 1 and Tables S1–S3 , Figure 1 , Figure 2 and Figure 3 ).

By quantifying immunofluorescence intensity using the ImageJ particle analysis tool (ImageJ 1.51 s; NIH, Bethesda, MA, USA) as described previously [ 133 ], we showed that the observed changes between activity and hibernation are highly significant ( Figure 2 E), indicating that CaM plays a key role in neuron survival in the entire nervous system by buffering Ca 2+ concentration or by binding to other effector proteins.
The Interaction between Cd and Zn in Roots of Tall Fescue After 15 days of Cd treatment, the Cd concentration in the roots of tall fescue decreased by more than a half with the increase of Zn concentration in the nutrient solution ( Figure 2 a), while Zn concentration in the roots showed a decreasing trend with the increase of Cd concentration, indicating that Zn and Cd acted antagonistically to inhibit their uptake in roots of tall fescue.
