Accelerated flowering of Arabidopsis plants has been associated with reduced seed set, truncated fruit development, and often a severe reduction of the germinability of the seeds produced ( Smith and Whitelam, 1997 ), although a highly significant genetic variation for the germination response was found ( Dechaine et al., 2009 ).
Excerpts
The total Chl and carotenoid content also showed a decreasing trend as the light intensity increased (Figure S1G ).
near-significantgold
Transcripts of LOC_Os01g03720 were positively correlated with the expression of miR164d (Figure 5C ), whereas the expression level of LOC_Os02g36880 was negatively correlated (at near-significant levels) with miR164d (Figure 5D ).
There were significant differences in eight amino acids due to water stress including four essential amino acids: isoleucine, leucine, threonine, and valine and four non-essential amino acids: asparagine, glutamic acid, proline (marginally significant), and tyrosine ( Table 3 ).
(2005) reported that the translocation of ABA from roots to shoots may be blocked in the stay green cultivar (Maize P3845) in which lower ABA level might be significant for delaying leaf senescence.
Correlation coefficients between grain yield and PPI were positive and highly significant under drought conditions (Table 3 ).
Although rachis length decreased proportionally with the delay in winter pruning, the concurrent decrease in berries/cluster offset this effect and, regardless of its expression, cluster compacteness showed a decreasing trend the more pruning was delayed, registering significance for VLWP ( Table 3 ).
Quality of the Fruits The TSS content of berries was 5.4% greater in DF and NaCl than those of the TRASPBIO treatment ( Figure 7I ) and showed an increasing trend up to 30 days after the first harvest, then decreased.
The concentrations of K + showed a decreasing trend in all treatments, but the lowest concentration was recorded in the SP10 100 DAT, mainly because of the lower concentrations in fruits and pruned leaves (data not shown).
incredibly significantqualified
Research done on the rhizosphere of the pea plant has shown that incredibly significant differences in the rhizosphere microbial community may be occurring at the domain or kingdom level where the pea plant supports a higher eukaryotic population compared to prokaryotes ( Turner et al., 2013 ).
Consequently, as occurs with Ca 2+ ions, the BA transport by the apoplastic flux at sites may be significant where lateral roots penetrate the endodermis.
a negative trendgold
Finally, we found a negative trend between temperature range and P 50 in the three provenance trials ( Figure 3 ).
For joint coincidences between negative oak SRV events and pairs of meteorological variables (Figure S4 ), the results are hardly significant in general.
A marginally significant correlation was found between density and protein content of the seeds from NaCl salinized soil under low fertilization.
Fewer anticlinal cell divisions are probably associated with a decreasing trend of annual growth with age (Keunecke et al., 2009 ) but might be also interpreted as “opportunistic strategy” as it is obviously less costly since trees with top dieback produced wood with lower ( t / b ht ) 2 (6L) and thus wood density (Hentschel et al., 2014 ; Rosner et al., 2014 ).
These shifts in the crop biochemical balance translated into a highly significant increase in the aboveground C:N ratio following exposure to an eCO 2 environment, largely driven by the cultivar most resistant to herbivory (Glen Clova; Table 1 ).
Total fresh weight was borderline significant at the end of the trial, and the fresh weight/dry weight ratio differed significantly between ploidy levels ( Table 2 ; Figure 2 ).
The diurnal trend of leaf water potential shows a decreasing trend of water potential during the day.
Results Effect of heat-stress treatments on vigor of oat seeds with 10% and 16% MC The germination percentage of oat seeds showed a trend toward decrease with temperature increase from 35 to 50°C (Figure 1A ).
The Real-time PCR based expression patterns of all 10 selected genes showed a trend similar to that detected by the Solexa-sequencing method, which confirmed the reliability of our transcriptome analysis (Table S5 ).
Similar pattern was observed in PBW621; increase in TAC due to HS was quite significant.
A three-way ANOVA identified highly significant differences between accessions for the accumulation of exogenous allyl GSL within the seedling leaves (Table 4 ).
Moreover, this population showed highly significant differences between drought and control conditions for all traits.
Amino Acids Amino acids represent a highly significant group of metabolites, and it was demonstrated that their accumulation levels have a significant impact on the expression of plant drought tolerance ( Barchet et al., 2014 ).
Under the gradual dehydration induced by withholding watering in plants, a highly significant relationship ( r 2 = 0.93; data not shown) between the RWC decline and the reduction in A N was observed.
