Indeed, our data also confirmed that ACE2 positively correlated with α2 and α4 interferon and showed a trend for α1 interferon ( Figure 1D , Supplementary Figure 4 ).

We examined six proteins from RA Score using the immunoblotting technique and confirmed two of them, TNFAIP6 /TSG6 and HSP90AB1 /HSP90, with S100A8 /MRP8 protein trending near significance.

Interestingly, we found that all four patients analyzed (three before and one after HSCT) showed a trend towards reduced expression of Vα7.2 on their CD3 + T cells as compared to normal controls tested in parallel (median: MHCII-D 2.1%; HD 6.8%) ( Figures 3E, F ).

Arachidonic acid also showed an elevated trend in the serum of adult human patients with primary dengue infection ( 47 ), and in hepatitis C-infected tree shrews, metabolomic analysis revealed that arachidonic acid is one of the most significant differential metabolites ( 48 ).

Though the lower responses exhibited to the vaccines in the LMICs was observed irrespective of helminth status in the countries investigated, it is considered that co-infection with helminths is highly significant ( 81 – 83 ).

Interestingly, vaginal T-cell responses were comparable to those detected in the rectum, supporting this platform of immunization as a way to achieve responses at two sites that are highly significant in HIV transmission.

We observed a concentration-dependent increase in pre-cDC1s ( Figure 1K ), however we do not observe an increase in CD8α + cDC1s ( Figure 1L ) and only a slight trend toward increased CD103 + cDC1s ( Figure 1M ).

In this study, we show that JAKi significantly reduce the secretion of OSM-induced pro-inflammatory mediators MCP-1 and IL-6, while displaying an increasing trend in IL-8 secretion, this differential regulation is consistent with the pleiotropic effects of OSM ( 36 ).

Over the entire course of Orientia infection, these differences were highly significant.

The proportion of cellular crescents showed a trend of increase but was not of statistical significance, and we infer that the significance of differences is limited by sample size.

P -values < 0.05 were considered statistically significant and P -values < 0.01 were highly significant.

One may hypothesize that improvements in functionality could have predisposed the patients to a more active lifestyle, possibly leading to improvements in visceral fat, with possible influence on some inflammatory markers, such as IL1-β (tendency towards significance), an important mediator of the inflammatory response ( 12 , 32 , 33 ).

The BMP4 treated CD4+ T cells also showed a decreasing trend in the ratio of IL-4 production ( Figures 2A, C ).

The gene expression of Il2ra was also checked by PCR, although it was not found to be significant and it showed a trend of decrease in Il2ra after BMP4 treatment ( Figure 1C ).

Similar to the infection-naïve individuals, the anti-S antibody titres showed a decreasing trend after the second vaccine dose at weeks 6 and 7 ( Figure 4A ).

Of all markers tested the lymph node homing receptor CCR7 and CD15s (sialyl lewis x, expressed by Tregs in sarcoidosis) were lower in MulTreg, whilst gut homing integrin beta 7 (β 7 ) showed a trend for increased expression in MulTreg according to both MFI and frequency ( Figures 2G–I and S2C ).

Whilst both cell products showed a clear trend towards inhibition of IFNγ, TNFα and IL-17A in Flu-HA responses this was only significant in MulTreg co-cultures, however, no difference was seen in inhibition of IL-13 ( Figure 3F ).

Within this region is located the AA 1000-1008 epitope which displays both highly significant prediction scores and immunodominance properties.

We can clearly observe that the GDF15 of the survival group showed a decreasing trend, while the GDF15 of the death group showed an increasing trend.

It is unlikely that this event signified re-infection or re-exposure for the following reasons: (1) serial nasopharyngeal swab testing for SARS-CoV-2 RNA remained negative until month 12; (2) the patient had no clinical symptoms suggestive of re-infection; (3) His IgG titer continually decreased until M12; (4) the changes observed in levels of DCs, mDCs and B-cells showed a trend consistent with IgM levels.

Elevated IL-7 in SARS-COV-2 Infection A low percentage of lymphocytes was measured in all randomly selected deceased COVID-19 patients; however, the percentage of lymphocytes showed a trend of increase in discharged patients.

TP53 and TCF12 also showed a trend toward increased immune cell infiltration, although their expression levels were more varied ( Figures S2A, C ).

PGD in the lung allograft was associated with an increase in the epigenetic age, and older methylation age showed a trend toward poorer outcomes.
