Thus, among the 81 patients with breast cancer or gynecological malignancies who underwent molecular profiling (11/81, 13.6%) experienced a highly significant clinical improvement (major clinical benefit) through precision oncology.
Excerpts
Even though in our center alcohol consumption and HCV infection were the leading causes of HCC, we observed, in the four-year period analyzed, a decreasing trend in the relative weight of HCV infection (from 30.9% to 22.5% of cases) (both in treated and active HCV) and, on the other hand, an increase in ALD- and MASLD-related HCC.
There was an increasing trend in the proportion of patients with ALD and MASLD, while a decline in HBV and HCV was observed.
Furthermore, the soluble cytokine receptor IL-6Rα(s-IL-6Rα) and the associated soluble gp130 (s-gp130) showed a trend towards the same prediction.
In our previous study [ 20 ], supportive therapy (antiemetics, erythropoietins, colony-stimulating growth factors, and hypocalcemia medications) accounted for 4.6% of the total pharmaceutical expenditure for the treatment of solid tumors in patients treated in the routine healthcare setting, and although this percentage is low, it showed a decreasing trend along the years, with only 1.4% in 2019.
Hypofractionation poses concerns, particularly with limited information on hypofractionated PMRT amid an increasing trend of breast reconstruction after mastectomy [ 5 , 6 ].
Considering patient demographic factors known to influence healthcare delivery and glioma outcomes [ 17 , 18 ], an interesting trend emerged across these studies.
In ovarian cancer, KRAS mutation was an increasing trend from normal ovaries to benign mucinous tumors, mucinous borderline tumors, and mucinous ovarian tumors [ 49 , 50 ].
The comparison of the two cohorts at different times and by different teams allowed confirmation of the consistency of the PALCOM model based on: (a) the homogeneity of the socio-demographic and clinical data; (b) the lack of significant differences in the distribution of the frequencies of the levels of complexity; (c) the highly significant differences in the frequencies of the different domains of the scale according to the assigned level; and (d) the highly significant differences in 6-month mortality according to the assigned level. 3.2.
Of the 30 blood tests studied, an increasing trend in eight (27%) was associated with eight cancer types, and a decreasing trend in 17 (57%) with 10 cancer types.
Both bacteria showed a trend towards better PFS and OS in the group with the bacterium, and particularly the group with Bacteroides stercoris showed significantly better PFS than the group without the bacteria.
Observing distinct patterns of intratumor heterogeneity ( Figure 1 ), we further found significant or borderline significant differences between the redox indices of the OAs and RAs of each respective line, except for Fp concentration of the C8161 tumor line ( Table 1 ).
a notable trendgold
Although the role of neutrophils in CLL has traditionally been underestimated, recent studies have brought attention to a notable trend: CLL patients exhibit a higher inclination for NETs release compared to their healthy counterparts.
A pilot cohort of sera from patients with RMS showed a trend towards higher exosomal miR-1246 levels in serum when compared with a separate control cohort, suggesting its origin from RMS tumors in these patients.
Interestingly, subgroup analysis showed a trend toward better outcomes with paclitaxel plus trastuzumab in patients with longer interval between final dose of trastuzumab and paclitaxel plus trastuzumab.
QLQ-C30 and QLQ-STO22 scores showed a favorable trend in trastuzumab plus chemotherapy compared to chemotherapy alone.
The impact of corticosteroid therapy for irAEs on ICI efficacy is unclear; the organ system affected, the primary tumor type, as well as the timing and dose of systemic steroid therapy may be significant [ 21 , 22 , 23 , 24 ].
The MDA levels showed a trend proportional to the OxPhos uncoupling ( Figure 5 C) and were more evident when curcumin was irradiated after cell administration.
The analysis that we conducted on 1.178 patients showed a slight trend of more diagnoses and the greater efficacy of a single pass in patients who underwent contrast-guided pancreatic sampling, although this finding did not reach statistical significance.
a slight trendgold
When the analysis was performed separately in the two periods of time (2005–2014 and 2015–2023), early mortality showed a slight trend to decrease over time in both cohorts, without statistical significance.
Previous and ongoing studies have created an important trend that will continue to drive the field of exercise-oncology research for years to come, steadily increasing the evidence in favour of PA prescription in oncology.
an evident trendgold
Lastly, data for overall survival in the ITT population remain immature to date; however, an interim analysis conducted at a cutoff of 25% of deaths demonstrated an evident trend towards it [ 9 ].
We note that these values are averaged and do not reflect interpatient variations, which may be significant for certain parameter configurations.
Radiomics studies with classic machine learning algorithms prevail, but there is an increasing trend toward deep learning applications for feature extraction and subtype classification.
HPV infection is highest in younger women (<25 years old); therefore, a decreasing trend is observed with increasing age.
