Limitations at the study level may include a lack of reporting quality control steps, reporting of variants within linkage disequilibrium, small sample size, and a lack of reporting variants that failed to reach genome-wide significance ( p < 5 × 10 −8 ) but may have reached borderline significance levels ( p < 10 −7 ).

One association reached borderline significance (p = 6.41∙10 −7 ) when using the RAVA-FIRST strategy, i.e. with CADD regions and the corresponding ACS filtering.

The analyses of the BIS subscales showed that this differential effect was particularly attributable to motor impulsivity (i.e., acting without thinking), where the group*time interaction reached borderline significance ( p = .066, see also Table S4 in Supplement) and post hoc tests indicated a highly significant improvement in the active group ( p = .005) but no significant change in the sham group ( p = .58).

Although the Hosmer–Lemeshow test reached borderline significance ( p = 0.034), graphical calibration indicated acceptable agreement between predicted and observed probabilities (data not shown).

Men who reported past HIV testing were not more or less likely to have prevalent HIV infection, but men who reported testing and not returning for HIV test results were nearly twice as likely to be HIV infected on presentation to the clinic and this association reached borderline significance, p = 0.042.
