On the multiplicative scale, nominally significant interactions between endometriosis PRS and comorbidity diagnosis were noted: there was a significant negative interactive effect for asthma ( p = 0.016) and irritable bowel syndrome ( p = 0.018) in the UKB and for heavy menstrual bleeding in the EstBB ( p = 0.02) ( Table S9 ).
When the absolute value of beta in the meta-analysis was greater than 0.1, genes with FDR-corrected P values (FDR-p) < 0.1 were defined as significantly differentially expressed genes (DEGs), while those with p values < 0.05 were defined as nominally significant DEGs.
One protein, IL18R1, showed a nominally significant, unidirectional relationship with AD risk (beta 0.02, se 0.01, P 0.04) (Additional file 2 : Table S19).
Out of these ten nominally significant variants, all but two, rs1535500 at KCNK16 and rs6960043 near DGKB , had associations with type 2 diabetes in the same direction as reported in previous GWAS.
Single, wealthier, and more educated women were more mobile, but the differences, though nominally significant, were modest.
Of the 31 CSF‐plasma shared metabolites, four metabolites (3‐hydroxyisolutyrate, alpha‐hydroxyisovalerate, ergothionenine, guaiacol sulfate), belonging to the branched‐chain amino acids (BCAAs) or xenobiotics, were nominally significant in brain.
In this analysis, one of the SNPs (rs789859) showed significant association after Bonferroni correction, and four (rs10873824, rs4144887, rs12130910 rs2809115) were nominally significant (lowest p-value 3.278 × 10 −4 ).
In untreated patients, the increased activation was nominally significant in CD69+ CD8 T and B cells ( Figure 5A ; Supplementary Table 7 ).
52 A global false discovery rate adjusted P -value q ≤ 0.1 was used to identify statistically significant non-synonymous variant-enriched genes and an unadjusted P ≤ 0.005 to identify nominally significant non-synonymous variant-enriched genes.
This finding is considered nominally significant based on the prespecified hierarchical analysis of secondary end points.
We also observed nominally significant enrichment of variants associated with autism at lower GWAS P value thresholds (Additional file 1 : Table S7), although we note that the number of tested variants for this was smaller than for other brain-related traits, limiting statistical power.
These improvements occurred early, at the first post-treatment assessment (Day 14 and Day 28 for ACQ-6 and SGRQ scores, respectively), remained consistent over time, and remained nominally significant compared with placebo over the treatment period ( Table 2 ).
Since no DEGs in any comparison with a log(fold change) ≥|1.25| survived false discovery rate (FDR) correction (p FDR < 0.1), only nominally significant DEGs with ≥|2|-fold change (as highlighted in Figure 2 A) between Control:ALLO vs.
Indeed, a previous study on a cardiovascular cardiac phenotype reported that nominally significant associations are enriched in enhancer regions 9 , consistent with our findings.
Nominally significant associations were observed between dutasteride exposure and CYP3A4 and CYP3A5 genotype and between tamsulosin and ABCG2 , CYP3A5 , and SLC22A1 genotypes.
At six months, lower left IMT in the omega-3 category and lower right IMT in the combined category were nominally significant, but neither association survived false-discovery-rate correction.
In addition, 21 nominally significant causal relationships were also identified.
Unadjusted p-value ( p < 0.05) was considered nominally significant.
LV end-systolic and end-diastolic volumes showed a nominally significant positive correlation with VEGF-induced EPC migratory ability.
For example, one of these genes is DDX59 ; in our differential expression analysis, DDX59 shows a nominally significant negative association with IQ.
For BMI and waist circumference the identified SNP combinations contained SNPs which were also nominally significant associated in the single SNP analyses (for BMI: FTO rs9939609 and both MC4R-SNPs).
Therefore, the relevant results were only exploratory, with insufficient statistical grasp (mostly nominally significant), and the extrapolation was limited.
Interestingly, a Mendelian randomization study of the PCSK9 LOF variant rs11591147 (R46L, G/T) in 337,536 individuals from the UK Biobank found the T allele was protective against ischemic stroke in the hypothesis-driven set and a nominally significant association with stroke in the full data set ( Rao et al., 2018 ).
Only TAG-FA18:3 ( p = 0.0071), TAG-FA22:1 ( p = 0.034), and TAG-FA22:6 ( p = 0.036) showed nominally significant associations (Supplementary Fig. 2 ).
