Oestrone sulphate was also a nominally significant predictor of autism likelihood in the logistic regression model but did not maintain statistical significance following false discovery rate correction ( β = 0.033, p = 0.036, q = 0.065) (Table 2 ).
Overall, we observed an excess of nominally significant SNP set overlaps, consistent with (but in no way proof of) the hypothesis a shared genetic etiology between these cardiometabolic traits.
However, at a nominally significant level, Figure 2 depicts results indicating that genes that showed strong association with rumination in the suboptimal folate group were highly expressed during late-mid and late prenatal brain development.
After Bonferroni correction for 80 * 22 comparisons, these three were significant in 10 to 15 structures and nominally significant in 19 and 20 structures (table S7).
A two-sided P value less than 0.05 indicates a nominally significant overall association.
Although we observed evidence of nominally significant associations at some of these variants, none remained significant after correcting for multiple testing.
This nominally significant result suggests that bile acid metabolism may represent a putative target through which DCHD ameliorates SLI, warranting further validation in subsequent studies employing more precise analytical techniques. 4.
Primary Outcomes Paired Wilcoxon analyses revealed nominally significant changes in four parameters: ECA-test LOT (T0 vs.
Two SNP × education interactions were nominally significant ( Supplementary Table 6 ): TJP2 in Europeans (rs11145488, P int =6.91 × 10 −3 ) and SHISA6-DNAH9 in Asians (rs2969180, P int =4.02 × 10 −3 ).
Based on normality, group means or medians were compared using either a Student's t-test or Wilcoxon Rank Sum test; a p-value of 0.05 was considered nominally significant.
The associations of C677T with alpha-2 macroglobulin levels and of A1298C with thrombomodulin levels were only nominally significant and therefore require independent validation.
The only nominally significant difference between treatment groups was in FD in the superior cerebellar peduncle, which was higher in the leriglitazone group (data not shown).
The probability of obtaining a number of nominally significant variants equal or higher than what we have observed for CRP levels and/or for the severe COVID-19 phenotype was calculated by the binomial distribution.
This arbitrary threshold was chosen to limit the results to be displayed and to provide a reference point for discussion of markers demonstrating nominally significant (albeit within the null expectation given the number of markers examined) evidence of association to dementia within our population.
Given that DNA methylation may have an impact on gene regulation [ 5 ], the probability of detecting true positive associations should be improved by combining nominally significant data from genomics and epigenomics and linking them by quantitative trait loci (QTL) analysis.
However, within individual CpGs, blood had the highest proportion of CpGs correlated to brain at nominally significant levels (20.8%), as compared to buccal tissue (17.4%) and saliva (15.1%).
Discussion and conclusions In the present study, although we did not see any significant association between telomere associated single SNPs and the GRS with incident CVD in the crude and adjusted analysis, however, few SNPs and respectively the GRS showed nominally significant association with incident CVD risk in certain CVD risk factors strata.
Furthermore, although the 9-SNP uGRS was not alone associated with glucose in our sample, it did present a nominally significant interaction with the protein-rich “Eggs and Fibers” dietary pattern (consisting of non-refined cereals, vegetables and eggs) in increasing logGlucose levels (Model 2: β = 0.00883, p -value = 0.0132).
For the other exposure variables, a few associations showed nominally significant interaction with either fiber intake or BMI (none remained after FDR correction), but not among any of the significantly associated bacterial genera (Supplemental Tables 2, 7, 12 and 17).
Each of these genes is required to contain SNPs that display nominally significant abuser/control allele frequency differences in four prior samples, and also to display enhanced Monte Carlo p values when the current dataset is added to previously-obtained datasets.
Biomarkers that survived Bonferroni correction for number of biomarkers tested received 6 points, those nominally significant 4 points, and those that were just stepwise 2 points.
The fact that we identify slower metabolisers to be at higher risk of side effects even without adjusting for clinical titration, and the nominally significant associations consistent with the expected metabolic effects provide new evidence for the link between CYP2C19 metabolism and SSRI response.
Fourth, although we observed a nominally significant treatment effect in men but not in women, the formal interaction test between treatment and sex did not reach statistical significance (P for interaction = 0.362).
We then compared results with UK Biobank GWAS of general cognitive ability and reaction time, conducted quantitative trait locus (QTL) analyses of whole blood transcriptomic and serum metabolomic data for genome-wide significant variants (p < 5e-8), and performed gene set enrichment analyses of nominally significant transcripts.
