Nevertheless, nominally significant negative associations of the PleioPsych-GRS were found with the volume of the left thalamus, and with the SA in right caudal and rostral anterior cingulate regions (all p uncorrected < 0.01; Table 1 , Fig. 3A ).
Higher cKS risk with dandelion ( Taraxacum officinale ) contact was nominally significant but inconsistent with respect to dose-response, and dandelion had a marginal association with KSHV seroprevalence that suggests confounding.
The inclusion of nominally significant genes increases sensitivity but also raises the possibility of overstating certain pathways.
26 When this study was removed in a sensitivity analysis, heterogeneity decreased and the observed risk increase became nominally significant (1.30, 1.06 to 1.58).
We adopted an exploratory approach and nominated for follow up in the replication phase those genes detected as nominally significant in any of the seven scenarios according to the hybrid test.
Nine SNPs have nominally significant associations, five with ER status and four with grade (Table 4 ).
Three loci, BIN1 (rs4663105 in Jansen et al .; rs6733839 in Kunkle et al .) with elevated risk in females, KAT8 (rs59735493 in Jansen et al .) with elevated risk in males and FERMT2 (rs17125924 in Kunkle et al .) with elevated risk in males, showed nominally significant (p inter < 0.05) sex-specific AD association.
Following Bonferroni correction, a significance level of P < 0.008 (0.05/6) was considered statistically significant, while P values between 0.008 and 0.05 were considered nominally significant. 3 Results 3.1 IVs After the screening process, a total of 60 IVs were used for left-hand grip strength, and 98 IVs were used for right-hand grip strength.
Effect sizes were significantly different from zero in food parenting practices for regular timing of meals and snacks (PE = 1·08, se = 0·27,95 % CI (0·61, 2·00)) that survived multiplicity correction, as well as nominally significant effects on reducing distractions during mealtimes (PE = -0·79, se = 0·29, 95 % CI (−1·52, −0·19)), less use of food as a reward (PE = -0·54, se = 0·25, 95 % CI (−1·35, −0·04)) and providing an autonomy-supportive feeding environment (PE = 0·73, se = 0·28, 95 % CI (0·18, 1·51)) (Table 4 ).
For the probes outside of the MHC region, 92.9% of the effects remained in the same direction, 35.7% were nominally significant and 7.1% were significant after Bonferroni correction.
None of the six SNPs were nominally significant for association with ACL injury.
Statistical testing resulted in 22 outliers that were nominally significant at an alpha level of 0.01, of which 12 were downregulated and 10 were upregulated (Table S1 ).
Among 45 genetic variants tested, they found four genetic variants – rs266729 ( ADIPOQ ), rs601737 ( HNF4A ), rs5215 ( KCNJ11 ) and rs7177055 ( HMG20A ) – three of which are related to insulin secretion, showed nominally significant associations with postpartum abnormal glucose tolerance 10 .
As these re-analyses used a later data cut-off than the primary analyses, P -values below 0.05 are considered nominally significant.
Among these, TG (16:0_38:1) and DG (18:1_18:1) showed nominally significant differences between groups in the primary analysis, although this was not consistently observed in the sensitivity analysis.
Results Identification of the causal effects of circulating immune cells on DPN We identified five distinct immune cell types that exhibited nominally significant causal effects on diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN), with elevated levels associated with an increased disease risk.
This agreement is remarkable, given that GSEA uses all transcripts together with their fold changes as input but ignores significance, while STRING uses only the transcripts with nominally significant dysregulations but ignores fold changes.
The EPHA1 variant segregated completely in an extended Caribbean Hispanic family and was also nominally significant in the Caucasians.
Exploratory mediation analysis of a nominally significant taxon Although no microbial taxa showed a statistically significant association with both TTK inhibition and BC after FDR correction, the authors conducted a purely exploratory analysis on Genus Anaerostipes id.1991, which showed the strongest nominal signals in both steps (TTK inhibition → Anaerostipes : OR = 1.399, 95 % CI 1.117‒1.753, uncorrected p = 0.003; Anaerostipes → BC: OR = 0.862, 95 % CI 0.757‒0.982, uncorrected p = 0.025).
This association was attenuated, but nominally significant, after adjusting for both dietary and non-dietary confounders, and excluding potential energy misreporters and subjects with unstable food habits (Q5 versus Q1: HR = 1.27, 95% CI 1.06–1.51; P trend = 0.001).
However, rs69510130 was nominally significant in a Japanese sample in the previous study, whereas we tested for association in a Caucasian sample.
Among the 20 OMIM derived gene-lists (CNS+ above 19), for the 78 sb-RPD gene set, statistically significant overrepresentation at p < 0.0025 (0.05/20) was noted for gene lists annotated with clinical synopsis terms ‘central nervous system’ (p cor = 0.026), ‘head and neck’ (p cor = 0.037), and a nominally significant overrepresentation for ‘peripheral nervous system (0.057) (Supplement S2 and S3 and Supplementary Table 4 ).
