Although there were some nominally significant associations, none of these genes showed significant associations after Bonferroni correction with contraction or AAO ( Tables S14 and S15 ).

It is striking that the robustly defined (Tan) schizophrenia module was significantly enriched with nominally significant SNPs from a GWAS study.
Therefore, although the nominally significant correlation between processing speed and prolonged cortisol levels was not corrected for multiple comparisons, the fact that processing speed was the only measure among all the clinical measures we had explored that was nominally associated with the prolonged cortisol levels is intriguing.
11 However, in 1 of the largest studies, multivariable analyses of the AREDS2 cohort of 1616 eyes with GA revealed a nominally significant association between smoking status (current vs. former vs. never) and faster GA expansion. 2 Similarly, in longitudinal phenotypic cluster analyses of the same cohort, positive smoking status and faster GA expansion rate characterized a prominent cluster division. 7 Hence, this factor appears to be
In this context, some nominally significant or borderline-significant findings before multiplicity correction would be expected by chance alone.
The authors observed a significantly lower burden of variants (odds ratio: 0.09; p = 3.98 × 10 –15 ) in these 31 genes among survivors with (42.6%) compared with those without (89.6%) cardiac dysfunction, which is expected from a post hoc analysis of nominally significant set of genes.
We observed a nominally significant correlation between methylation levels of cg06781209 and levels of erythrocyte folate (nominal p value of 0.025, Spearman correlation, Additional file 5 ), but the association did not remain significant after correcting for multiple testing.
A nominally significant p -value was obtained for rs56383345 in both the European and the Yemeni sample (0.027 and 0.0099 respectively).
These p -values, while nominally significant, should be interpreted cautiously given the extremely small randomized groups ( n = 6 for nivolumab plus axitinib and n = 5 for nivolumab monotherapy), early trial closure, and inherently unstable point estimates.
When tested for association in an individually genotyped sample spanning the entire distribution of mathematical ability, 10 of these 43 SNP associations remained nominally significant.
Anxiety disorders demonstrated a nominally significant IVW association that proved unstable in sensitivity analyses ( Figure 7 ).
The only nominally significant association between seizure phenotypes and cognitive or functional phenotypes was between seizure frequency and level of dependence for ADLs: χ 2 (1, n = 129) = 4.93, P = 0.02, but the significance was lost following Bonferroni correction.
GP6 (FA2[6]BG1) and the overall bisecting structures also showed an increase and were nominally significant; however, these findings were attenuated after the correction for multiple testing, with the adjusted p -values being 0.06 and 0.07, respectively.
In addition, we performed a number of sensitivity analyses (excluding the initial studies and datasets in which HWE was violated in control individuals), systematically assessed between-study heterogeneity (via I 2 ), and assessed the credibility of each at least nominally significant meta-analysis result by calculating Bayes factors (BF; here expressed as log10(BF)="logBF”) [25] and by determining a grading score developed by the Human Genome Epidemiology Network (HuGENet) [26] , [27] .
In the prespecified mild cognitive impairment subgroup, valiltramiprosate demonstrated nominally significant clinical benefits on ADAS-Cog13, along with positive trends on functional outcomes ( Abushakra et al., 2025 ; Hey et al., 2025 ). 5.6.3 Non-genetic and environmental factors in sAD Han et al.
In global analyses, despite NAFLD, liver fat, and liver volume showing no significant causality with total cortical SA and TH, particular functional gyrus displayed nominally significant effects (Fig. 2 ).
For example, a PRS analysis of schizophrenia showed for the first time that an aggregate measure of the genetic risk to develop schizophrenia, estimated based on the effects of common SNPs (from the discovery sample) that showed nominally significant associations with disease risk, was significantly associated with schizophrenia risk in an independent (target) sample.
Statistical tests were two-sided and P values <0.05 were considered nominally significant.
Notably, only 1 of the 40 most abundant genes showed a nominally significant difference in abundance comparing PD and control subjects ( K01689 Enolase, representing .03% of mapped genes, was increased 50% in PD subjects).
P -values <4.55E-03 were considered significant, while P -values between 4.55E-03 and .05 were considered nominally significant.
Four disease gene lists displayed a nominally significant enrichment for sex-DEs and these findings were further validated by a comparison against a background of genes with a similarly high expression level in the brain (see STAR Methods ).
They discovered a genetic connection between the two diseases, formed by a nominally significant pleiotropy and an unexpected number of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) which were associated with the same direction of effect for both diseases.
Based on the primary IVW method, nine bacterial taxa exhibited nominally significant associations with IgAN.
However, SCL11A1, MT1X , S100A8 and NR4A2 were differentially expressed in SCZ in the hippocampus and nominally significant in SCZ in the OFC.
RESULTS Comparing nominally significant SNPs from the migraine and CAD GWAS, we found an overlap of association signals in excess of what would be expected by chance ( table 1 ).
